Below with Ofgem strikers, Ukrainian trade unionists Khrystyna Levchenko & Ivanna Khrapko, who've just visited the UK. They helped win stronger UK union support for Ukraine. Please help cover the costs of their visits. We've raised £1210, still need £790!

We've so far raised £880 on the Crowdfunder and collected £330 at our fringe meeting at TUC Congress, where Ivanna spoke. We need about £2,000, hence another £790. 99% of the funds USC raises are for projects and struggles in Ukraine, and we will be returning to that aid fundraising shortly. But we've had a very expensive summer, operate on a very limited budget, are run entirely by volunteers and have lots of campaigning coming up...

Motion 78 to TUC Congress, for a campaign to free the imprisoned Zaporizhzhia nuclear workers and to reaffirm solidarity with Ukraine passed unanimously (we couldn't see any hands against, no card vote called as so overwhelming).

⚠️ росія продовжує цілеспрямовано бити по цивільній інфраструктурі України. Українці гинуть і отримують поранення просто на своїх робочих місцях. Російський терор спрямований не лише на руйнування будинків, підприємств чи енергетики - його мета зламати українців, позбавити людей тепла, світла, роботи, засобів до існування.

Цими днями разом із делегацією Конфедерації вільних профспілок України працюємо на найвищому міжнародному рівні - з представниками парламентів і урядів, дипломатами, правозахисниками, міжнародними профспілковими організаціями та нашими давніми партнерами.

Говоримо про те, що відбувається в Україні насправді. Про необхідність посилення військової допомоги Україні та санкційного тиску на росію.

І головне - шукаємо не просто співчуття, а конкретні рішення і конкретну підтримку, яка допоможе Україні вистояти, перемогти агресора та відновити свою економіку.

Провели, зокрема, важливу зустріч із депутатом парламенту Великої Британії від Лейбористської партії Клайвом Льюїсом.
Клайв та його команда вже понад десять років послідовно підтримують незалежний профспілковий рух України. Після початку повномасштабної війни ця підтримка стала ще більш вагомою — не лише словами, а конкретними справами.

Зустрілися також із представником Лейбористської партії Норвегії, державним секретарем Міністерства закордонних справ Норвегії Андреасом Моцфельдтом Кравіком.

Норвегія та Велика Британія — серед держав, які сьогодні надають Україні потужну військову, економічну та політичну підтримку. І ми вдячні нашим партнерам за те, що вони залишаються поруч із Україною.

Лише перемога у цій агресивній війні гарантує українцям право жити, працювати, виховувати дітей і будувати майбутнє у своїй незалежній державі.

Саме тому ми використовуємо кожен міжнародний майданчик, кожну зустріч і кожен контакт, щоб посилювати підтримку України.

Це і є профспілкова дипломатія в дії.
