Peterhead Engineers Development Limited (PEDL) in conjunction with Peterhead & District Group Training Limited has been involved in the training of local engineers since 1967. In 2004 the company relocated to Wellbank Industrial Estate on the outskirts of Peterhead where our new custom-built premises (known simply as ‘The Training Centre’) include a large state-of-the-art training workshop, 2 clas

srooms, which may also available for hire, and 2 computer suites with a total of more than 20 terminals. PEDL is a Skills Development Scotland approved centre and a recipient of the ‘Investors in People’ 10-year Recognition and Bronze Awards. Since 1967 more than 1200 engineering apprentices with local companies have been indebted to PEDL for their training by a dedicated team of fully qualified and experienced trainers and assessors. Many of these PEDL apprentices are now employed in senior roles in engineering organisations locally, nationally and internationally. Significantly, more than half of these young men and women have been employed by Score Group plc who have a major and on-going involvement in the running and success of the Training Centre. Although engineering training remains the primary function of the Training Centre, PEDL added Business Administration training in 2008 to its portfolio of courses on offer. In 2012 our team of instructors and assessors gained approval from the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) to deliver the National Certificate in Administration. Plans are already afoot to build on this formal recognition by offering an even larger range of training courses for local existing and new businesses
