🎟️🎁 CALLING ALL LOCAL BUSINESSES & SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS! 🎁🎟️

Ackworth Community Library is holding its annual raffle to help raise much-needed funds for our lovely local library 📚❤️

We’re reaching out to local businesses, small businesses and anyone running a business from home to ask if you’d be willing to donate a raffle prize, gift voucher or a product/service to help support our fundraiser. 🥰

Whether you offer beauty treatments, hairdressing, crafts, handmade gifts, cleaning services, cakes, photography, or any other product or service, every donation would be very much appreciated! 💝

This is also a lovely opportunity to showcase your business to the local community while supporting a valuable community resource. 🏡📖

No donation is too small, and every little bit helps! 🙏

If you’re able to donate something, or would like more information, please comment below or send us a private message.

Please give this post a share to help us reach as many local businesses as possible! ❤️

Thank you so much for supporting Ackworth Community Library and helping us keep our library thriving for everyone. 📚✨

Reading Allowed: Act 3 The Price of Coal by Barry Hines.

A very big round of applause to everyone who came along to participate in our third Reading Allowed evening on 28th September and for making it a successful and enjoyable experience. We welcomed 3 new members who happily got involved in reading Barry Hines’ hilarious drama “Meet the People”.

The script was read with enthusiasm, energy and delight and we all agreed it was so much fun. Rave reviews and requests to do it again followed.

So, by popular demand, we will aim to do one more session of Reading Allowed: Act 4 before Christmas on Monday 23rd November at 7.00pm - 9.00pm in the library. We will let you know nearer the time as to the final arrangements.

We would like also to thank those who provided and served refreshments, and to those who generously donated funds to help cover our costs.

Congratulations and bravo to our brilliant cast.

We have a lot of Michael Morpurgo’s books in the library that we don’t think are as popular as they should be. They might be just the books you need to bridge the gap in your child’s reading list so that they don’t lose interest in words and stories! They are ideal for children who aren’t quite ready for Young Adult novels but have out grown simpler titles. Check them out next time you visit.
