We had a visitor come into the library and very proudly tell us how they had used at least 15 blue tokens to vote for Ackworth Community Library in the Tesco Fruit and Veg grant scheme.

How many times have you voted for us?

Every blue token enables us to provide a healthy snack to children who visit our little room of books (and other things)...

We’re getting ready to celebrate all things Gruffalo in the run-up to the release of The Gruffalo’s Granny! 📚💜

Come along and join in with lots of Gruffalo-themed fun, including:
🎨 Gruffalo painting
🖍️ Colouring sheets
🔎 Word searches
👀 Spot the difference
📖 And our Storytime will feature the original Gruffalo story!

Only 10 weeks left to go to help support Ackworth Community Library. We have 780 active Co-op members supporting us, but there are so many more members that could be supporting us too. If you have not done so yet please select us as 'Your local cause' to help much need funds for our charity.

Good morning! At our coffee morning today we have a fresh cream and strawberry Victoria sponge, a cherry Bakewell Victoria sponge, gluten free chocolate brownies, vegan lemon drizzle and some lemon and honey muffins. Our story today is Freddie and the fairy by Julia Donaldson and we will be making magic wands 😊

You can't eat those little blue tokens that they hand out at the tills in Tesco, but if you select us as your preferred beneficiary, you can help us to provide free fruit and veg to all the children who come to Ackworth Community Library to read and borrow our books.

Children learn better when they have a full tummy and having a healthy snack at the library helps them to have positive associations with reading and literacy.

So remember, when it comes to health and literacy, "Every Little Helps!"
