3rd Battalion 196th Infantry Brigade 3rd Battalion 196th Infantry Brigade is the Training Support Battalion for the Marianas.

Our primary mission is to guarantee training success of our partners; the Guam Army National Guard and Army Reserve Units.

Most of Team Taga will not be able to attend the Brigade Change of Command in August, but we wanted to present COL Leclair with a Latte Stone while we could be with him in person.

In Guam, latte stones (pronounced LAT-ee) were traditionally used as the foundation of our homes, and it took a community to raise them into place. In many ways, that reflects Charger 6’s leadership. Wherever he goes, he builds community, strengthens teams, and helps create the foundation our Soldiers and Army need to succeed.

Thank you for your leadership, mentorship, and the impact you have had on Taga and the Soldiers you’ve led.

Congratulations to LTC Dave Yi, Battalion Commander, 1st BN, 196th IN BDE, on graduating Jungle School—a demanding course that tests endurance, discipline, and leadership in tough conditions. He graduated alongside CPT Ramonjoe Respicio from 3rd BN, 196th IN BDE, showcasing the strength of the 196th team across the Pacific.

Leaders who pursue hard training bring that edge back to the formation, strengthening our readiness and supporting the JPMRC mission wherever we’re called to operate. Well done, gentlemen!
