On International Overdose Awareness Day, we look back on 25 years of global advocacy and recognize why this mission is still needed right here at home on Guam.
Overdose prevention is built on education, support, and accessible tools—not judgment. We can all play a part in making our community safer by managing prescriptions responsibly, reducing the stigma around substance use disorders, and learning how to respond in an emergency.
Carrying Naloxone (Narcan) is a practical way to be prepared to help someone in need. It is safe, easy to use, and does not cause harm if administered by mistake.
Free, confidential, and anonymous naloxone kits are available 24/7 at the public naloxone vending machine located right outside the main entrance of the Guam Behavioral Health & Wellness Center in Tamuning. Prevention works, treatment is effective, and people do recover. Let’s continue to support one another.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, please call, text, chat 988. You can also call the Tohge Warmline at (671)787-WARM (9276) for support.
