📌 The First ARNECC Energy-Climate Training Programme is now open for applications!

Delivered in collaboration with MOYA Analytics, this first edition of the programme offers a unique opportunity for students, early-career researchers, analysts, and young professionals across ASEAN to strengthen their technical skills in energy systems modelling and climate planning.

Over the course, participants will engage in live online training sessions, guided assignments, and self-paced learning activities.

Top-performing participants may also be shortlisted for interviews with MOYA Analytics for potential researcher/analyst opportunities, subject to MOYA Analytics’ selection process.

Only 20 registered participants will be selected for the training. If you are passionate about shaping ASEAN’s energy future, this is your chance to take the next step!

🌾 What if one of ASEAN’s most overlooked agricultural by-products holds the key to powering its clean energy future?

Across the region, millions of tonnes of rice husks are burned or left to rot each year, contributing to emissions and air pollution. But rich in carbon and silica, these husks can be transformed into biochar electrodes for supercapacitors, offering a low-cost, locally sourced alternative to imported lithium-ion batteries for energy storage.

Explore how this circular innovation can support rural microgrids, electric vehicles, and solar energy storage, while creating new income streams for farmers and driving progress towards SDGs 7, 12, and 13.

Through the ARNECC Paper Talk on Just and Inclusive Energy Transition (JIET), experts explored the challenges of building a fair labour transition in a rapidly changing global landscape.

Key issues such as skills mismatch, limited job mobility, the exclusion of informal workers, and financing gaps continue to shape the transition. The discussion also highlighted that policies must be tailored to each country’s context, rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach.
