Exciting news for Birr! 🌟 The inspiration behind Ireland’s EU Presidency logo comes from Birr’s world-famous astronomical heritage, reflecting the spiral structure of the Whirlpool Nebula first identified using the Great Telescope at Birr Castle.

A proud recognition of Birr’s remarkable contribution to science, innovation, and Irish history on the European stage.
