UCC Library - supporting the research and study needs of the University College Cork community sinc

UCC Library is a contemporary university library containing rich collections and archives, multimedia, archive, information and knowledge management systems. It provides competency in answering all questions concerning information and media literacy, media provisioning and brokerage, and providing information services using modern technology. It is a meeting place for students and staff members alike and offers a diverse range of study and research environments, including a Creative Zone, Exhibition Area, Skills Centre and Library studio as well as an Assistive Technology Lab. UCC Library is comprised of the Boole Library (Main Campus), Boston Scientific Health Sciences Library (Brookfield). UCC Library also operates a joint Library Service with Mercy University Hospital, Cork. The Boole Library is located at the heart of the main campus at University College Cork (UCC) which is situated in south-west Ireland and was founded as a Queen’s College in 1845. The Boole Library is named after George Boole who was first professor of Mathematics at Queens College Cork. Today Boole is best remembered as the originator of Boolean Logic - a fundamental step in today's computer revolution, and the basis for all modern computer software.

The Creative Zone was filled once again for the third instalment of FUAIM in Boole Library! 🎶

This week we welcomed Hifilutin, a Cork-based flute quartet whose performance brought together original music and arrangements of classical and popular favourites.

Three weeks, three wonderful performances and three full houses. We’ve loved hosting these events and welcoming so many of you into the Library.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us. We hope you enjoyed the music and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Another full house in Boole Library today for a special Jazz Weekend edition of FUAIM

Many thanks to everyone who joined us in the Creative Zone, Boole Library, for a lunchtime performance by the Mulcahy-McGrath Jazz Guitar Duo

Presented as part of the Department of Music’s FUAIM Concert Series and UCC Library’s cultural programme, the concert featured standards from the Great American Songbook, Latin Jazz and original music by Tom Mulcahy and John McGrath, providing the perfect start to the Cork Jazz Festival weekend.

Thanks to all who came along and to everyone who joined us on the livestream.
