🌱 Small steps today, brighter futures tomorrow. ✨

Team SPANDAN revisited Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Prathmik Vidyalaya, Pashan, continuing its efforts to make learning more engaging, interactive and meaningful.

During the first visit, the team introduced educational project models to help students understand concepts in Science, Geography and Mathematics more effectively. A fun General Knowledge quiz also encouraged interactive learning. 📚💡

During the second visit, students explored these projects through practical demonstrations, helping them connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications. The team also conducted a basic assessment of 4th and 7th standard students preparing for scholarship examinations to identify their learning needs and plan further academic support.

As part of this initiative, eight COEP Technological University students will regularly teach 30 school students, while two additional COEP Tech students will oversee and supervise the initiative.

Prof. Archana G. Thosar, Dr. Sidra Tariq and Dr. Roshan D. Gadve guided and mentored the team throughout the initiative.

Because education is not just about teaching; it is about sparking curiosity, nurturing understanding and helping every child discover their potential. 🌱✨

COEP Technological University (COEP TECH) and CSIR - National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive deep-tech research, innovation, and academic exchange.

This strategic partnership bridges the gap between foundational science and advanced engineering. By combining COEP TECH’s excellence in engineering education with CSIR-NCL’s world-class research and pilot development capabilities in chemistry and advanced material engineering, we aim to accelerate technological breakthroughs that address critical industrial challenges.

The agreement was formalised today by Dr. D. N. Sonawane, Registrar of COEP Technological University, and Dr. Ashish Lele, Director of CSIR-NCL, in the distinguished presence of the Hon. Prof. Sunil Bhirud, Vice Chancellor of Coep Tech. This landmark collaboration has been successfully brought to fruition through the ApniLeap transformation iniviative at COEP Technological University, under the leadership of Mr. Vivek Pawar, Chief Trasformation Officer, along with Dr. Sarika Kelkar, Professor-of-Practice. Present on this occasion were Dr. S. P. Mahajan, Director of RIIL (REEL); and Dr. Mangesh Vetal and Harkrishna Punjal represent CSIR-NCL.

• Energy & Mobility Innovation: Joint advanced materials development and cell process development.

Under the aegis of the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, COEP Technological University (COEP Tech), Pune, and Mu*****ns India Limited (MIL) have joined hands to strengthen industry-academia association through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 12 October 2026 in the presence of Prof. Sunil Bhirud, Vice-Chancellor, COEP Technological University (COEP Tech), Pune, and Shri Sanjay Hazari, Chairman and Managing Director, Mu*****ns India Limited (MIL), this MoU is a significant step towards strengthening indigenous defence manufacturing and industry–academia collaboration

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. D. N. Sonawane, Registrar, COEP Tech, and Shri N. P. Naik, Director (HR), Mu*****ns India Limited.

The MoU will strengthen COEP Tech’s contribution to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industrial requirements, promoting technology-driven innovation, and applying technical expertise to address industrial challenges, thereby supporting India’s industrial growth and self-reliance under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.!

The MoU aims to build a strong partnership between academia and the defence manufacturing sector, focusing on:

COEP Tech Students: A Small Act, A Life-Saving Impact

Team Spandan (Student Club) organised a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Sassoon Hospital, Pune, encouraging students, faculty and staff of the COEP Tech community to come forward and contribute to a life-saving cause.

352 donors participated in the Blood Donation Camp, which was inaugurated by Prof. Sunil Bhirud, Vice Chancellor, COEP Technological University. Each donor received a Blood Donation Certificate and a Blood Donation Card valid for two years.

A year-on-year initiative of Team Spandan, the camp provides students with an opportunity to actively engage in community service and develop a lasting sense of social responsibility and community care. Such initiatives encourage students to carry forward the spirit of service in their future endeavours.

The camp was organised under the guidance of Prof. Archana G. Thosar and Dr. Roshan D. Gadve, Coordinator, Team Spandan, with the support of the COEP Tech student community and the medical team from Sassoon Hospital. The initiative also received support from Prof. Parag A. Sadgir, Prof. C. Y. Patil, Dr. P. D. Shendge and Dr. M. R. Shindikar, who were present at the camp along with other faculty members.

With 50+ students and volunteers from Team Spandan actively contributing to the initiative, the camp brought together students, doctors and volunteers in support of a meaningful social cause.

COEP’s Bright Journey Towards Excellence in Research in Higher and Technical Education

Chief Minister Hon. Devendra Fadnavis and the State Higher and Technical Education Minister Hon. Chandrakant Dada Patil envisioned transforming COEP Technological University from an institution focused solely on formal education into a significant research hub in the field of technology, with a clear vision of the future.

Inspired by this vision, the Research and Innovation Park at COEP Technological University, Chikhali is steadily emerging as a vibrant platform bringing together researchers, academicians and students from across Maharashtra and the country, along with leading technology companies, marking COEP’s bright journey towards a promising future.

A significant milestone in this journey is the joint initiative by COEP Technological University and the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) to establish the Advanced Ergonomics and Human Factors Research Centre at COEP Tech’s Research and Innovation Park, Chikhali.

Key Highlights of the Centre:

1. India’s first research centre focused on developing engineering technologies centred around Indian users and their physical characteristics.
2. A combined investment of ₹105 crore towards establishing the centre.
3. Spread across approximately 38,000 sq. ft., the centre will help reduce dependence on foreign technologies in this field.
4. Focus on research, testing, validation, training, innovation and industry engagement in Ergonomics and Human Factors.
5. The centre will benefit diverse sectors including automotive, defence, space research, railways, agriculture, industrial equipment, consumer products, furniture, construction, architectural environments and textiles.
6. The centre will leverage the combined expertise of faculty, researchers and students from both institutions, along with technical experts from global companies.

Aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat, this initiative is committed to positioning Maharashtra as a hub for research, innovation and advanced manufacturing.

COEP Tech Joins the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, COEP Technological University conducted a cleanliness drive across its South and North Campuses.

The initiative began with a cleanliness pledge, followed by participation from the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunil Bhirud, Registrar Dr. D. N. Sonawane, Deans, Directors, faculty members, students and staff.

The pledge reinforced the importance of personal responsibility, cleanliness and community participation in building a cleaner India.

A small step towards a cleaner campus and a cleaner India.

COEP Tech and JSW Projects Join Forces to Build Indigenous Battery Technology for an Atmanirbhar Bharat !!

It is with great pride and excitement that we announce, COEP Technological University, Pune has signed an MoU with JSW Projects, a JSW Group Company, to establish an Advanced Battery Research & Development Centre at COEP Tech's Chikhali Research Park!

This is India's first indigenous battery prototyping and pilot-scale R&D platform, backed by a combined investment of more than ₹800 crore, and it will be built in two phases: a Cell Research & Development Centre to design, simulate and prototype indigenous Li-Ion and advanced chemistry cells such as Sodium-Ion, followed by a Cell Validation Centre capable of producing cells from 100-600 Ah.

The facility will enable joint research, publications, projects and IP development, taking India's battery technology from lab to industry.

Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunil Bhirud said: "We want a strong Indian alternative to imported batteries, and this collaboration takes us a real step closer. For our students, it is a rare chance to learn and work on advanced battery technologies right on campus. With Phase I and Phase II together with JSW, our research and technology development moves to a much bigger platform. We are grateful to the Government of Maharashtra and the Board of Governors of COEP Tech for making this possible."
