COMMUNITY and REGIONAL COLLABORATION.
The 2026 Leadership and Project Management Training (LPMT) of the ASEAN Japan Environmental Leaders Network (AJYELN) kicked off with the opening program at the ASEAN Secretariat. It was graced by the presence and message of support from H. E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations; His Excellency Yonetani Koji, the Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN; and Secretary-General of the ASEAN Japan Centre, Dr. Chris Hirabayashi. Japan fellow- Taketo Kugunita and Thailand fellow- Pawarisa Bhurinuntakul, gave their messages as representatives of 2026 Cohort. After the opening program, Dr. Vong Sok of the Environment Division at the ASEAN Secretariat delivered a lecture abour the policies and state of environment in the ASEAN region and beyond. In the afternoon, the fellows visited REkosistem Dry Hub at Bogor, Indonesia to see how materials are being recovered in their facility. Day 1 was indeed a productive day to start the program.
