🏆 Celebrating Creativity & Devotion: Wesak Lantern Competition Winners! 🏆

The centrepiece of our Town Hall Buddhabhiwandana Wesak celebrations reached a spectacular highlight with the judging of the annual Wesak Lantern Competition! The creativity, craftsmanship, and dedication displayed by our municipal departments this year were truly awe-inspiring.

A massive congratulations to the Fire Department of the CMC for capturing 1st Place! 🥇🚒 Sparking immense pride, their breathtaking lantern design perfectly blended intricate traditional artistry with magnificent engineering, captivating everyone who visited Town Hall.

We also extend our sincere congratulations to all the other winning departments and participants across the CMC. Every lantern brought light, beauty, and a deep sense of devotion to the heart of Colombo.

Thank you for your tireless efforts in keeping our beautiful Wesak traditions shining so brightly! 🌟🙏

✨ Illuminating Hearts and Minds: Day 2 Opening of the CMC Wesak Celebration ✨

The second day of the Colombo Municipal Council’s Wesak celebrations commenced on a grand and auspicious note last night.

We were deeply honored by the presence of the Mayor of Colombo, along with former Municipal Commissioner Mr. Palitha Nanayakkara, and the dedicated officers and staff of the CMC, who all gathered to mark this spiritual milestone.

The evening beautifully captured the spirit of unity and devotion as our city leadership and municipal family joined hands to celebrate the timeless teachings of peace, compassion, and wisdom.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone whose hard work and presence made the evening truly luminous and meaningful for the citizens of Colombo.

✨ Voice of Devotion: Wesak Day 2 Bhakthi Gee Celebrations ✨

The city of Colombo resonated with serene melodies and spiritual bliss last night as the Day 2 Wesak celebrations came alive!

A truly mesmerizing Bhakthi Gee (Devotional Songs) program was beautifully presented by the talented students and teachers representing 21 Daham Pasals (Dhamma Schools) across Colombo city. Clad in pure white, these young voices filled the air with deep devotion, reminding us all of the profound teachings of peace, compassion, and mindfulness taught by the Buddha.

It was a beautiful sight to see our younger generation coming together so wonderfully to keep our rich spiritual traditions alive. Thank you to all the dedicated students, teachers, parents, and organisers who poured their hearts into making this evening a sublime experience for everyone.
