The Ministry of Health and the National WASH Commission Liberia with support from UNICEF Liberia, today held a day long Validation Workshop of the National Training Manual of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Facility Improvement tool, (WASH FIT) in healthcare facilities at the conference room of the WASH Commission.

The National Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Commission (NWASHC), Gender Unit, on July 29, 2026, received a donation of equipments from the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning with support from the Government partners.

These equipments included but not limited to;
White board eraser, white board marker, chairs (office), filling cabinet, desk, laptop, projector, printer (black & white) etc.

The project which is aimed at implementing gender responsive planning and budgeting, started since 2019 with nine standing entities, and as part of effort to expand the implementation, the MFDP has reached out to over five entities including NWASHC's gender unit.

Hon. Morris G. Gono, Jr, the Executive Director of NWASHC, received the donation on behalf of the CEO Hon. George WK Yarngo.

The Director for Budget, Policy, and Coordination, Julius M. Boakai made the donation on behalf of GOL/MFDP.

On Thursday July 23, 2026, at the seventh sector coordination meeting held at NWASH Commission conference room, the Executive Director of NWASHC Hon. Morris G. Gono, Jr. received the Todee District WASH Costed Plan on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Hon. George WK Yarngo.

The presentation was done by WaterAid Liberia's Senior Program Officer, Mohammed Massaley.

It is with profound sadness that the Management of the National Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Commission (NWASHC) announces the final homegoing of our dedicated Security Supervisor, Mr. James Mentee Gould.

The Management and staff of the Commission extend heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family, friends, colleagues, and all who mourn his passing.

May his soul rest in perfect peace. 🕊️🙏🏿
