Official Statement | Youth, Democracy & Pan-African Engagement Division
MONROVIA, REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA — APRIL 30, 2026
LIBERIA SHALL HOST THE 2026 YDUA CONTINENTAL FORUM
A Triumph of Youth, Vision, and Africa’s Democratic Ascendancy
The Evergreen Unity Party National Congress convenes this declaration with singular unanimity and indomitable conviction: Liberia shall host the 2026 Young Democrat Union of Africa (YDUA) Forum, convening in July of this year. This is not a mere administrative designation upon a continental itinerary,’it is an unequivocal proclamation of Liberia’s irreversible emergence as a sovereign epicenter of democratic renewal, youth empowerment, and Pan-African political discourse.
The Congress extends its fervent and unqualified commendation to Chairman Togar Melvin Cephas, National Youth Chair of the governing Unity Party, whose intellectual fortitude, persuasive acumen, and indefatigable diplomatic engagement before the YDUA Board secured this consequential mandate for the Republic. Chairman Cephas did not merely advocate, he prosecuted the case for Liberia with the eloquence of conviction and the clarity of vision, demonstrating before 32 continental youth formations that this nation is not a peripheral actor but a principal architect of Africa’s democratic future.
This historic conferment arrives under the transformative stewardship of His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., whose ARREST Agenda, encompassing Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism, has systematically repositioned Liberia as a credible, dynamic, and purposeful actor within the architecture of regional governance. The hosting of this Forum is not fortuitous; it is the organic corollary of a national administration that has elevated youth agency, democratic participation, and continental solidarity to the apex of its strategic priorities.
The Evergreen Unity Party National Congress therefore adjures all party organs, allied formations, and patriotic constituencies to marshal their resources, mobilize their memberships, and ensure that Liberia’s hosting of this Forum is not merely logistically meritorious but symbolically transformative, a testament to what an indomitable people, guided by purposeful leadership and continental solidarity, are capable of manifesting. When youth leaders from Dakar to Nairobi, from Accra to Addis Ababa, converge upon Monrovia this July, they shall encounter a Republic resurgent, galvanized, determined, and unequivocally ready.
Africa is watching. The youth are leading. Liberia is ready.
The National Congress
