Nimba County Police Launch Countywide Community Clean-Up Campaign
Tappita, Nimba County – August 3, 2026: In a renewed effort to strengthen community policing and promote environmental sanitation, the Nimba County Police Detachment has launched a countywide community clean-up campaign across major cities in Nimba County.
The initiative was officially launched on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in the city of Tappita, where police officers from across the county, under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mendin Larmie, joined residents and local authorities in a large-scale community clean-up exercise.
The campaign forms part of the Liberia National Police's commitment to fostering stronger partnerships with communities through meaningful civic engagement while promoting cleaner, healthier, and safer neighborhoods.
The Nimba County Police Detachment extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Mayor of Tappita, the Tappita City Corporation, and the people of Tappita for their unwavering support and active participation, which contributed to the successful launch of the initiative.
The clean-up campaign will continue throughout the county, with Saclepea City set to host the next exercise on the first Saturday of September 2026.
