Kommol for helping us celebrate our birthday this week! Over the last five years, the Embassy has been lucky to support visits to the RMI by Foreign Minister Penny Wong in 2022, Minister for Pacific Island Affairs Pat Conroy in 2023 and Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen in 2025! πŸ‡²πŸ‡β™₯οΈπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

To deliver these visits, Team Australia has had to dig deep - sometimes the same person ends up driving the Minister across the island, taking notes in meetings with the President, setting up venues for evening functions and somehow managing to both take and appear in the photos 🀣.

But all the hard work is worth it to give our ministers the chance to experience a little bit of life in Majol.🌴 We're looking forward to many more visits to come. πŸ™‚

Yesterday marked a new milestone in the relationship between Australia and WUTMI RMI, as we signed a funding agreement worth USD1.6m in the presence of President Heine. πŸ‡²πŸ‡πŸŽ‰πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Reflecting on the significant contributions to gender equality made by WUTMI and its co-founders, Ambassador Wilson emphasised that Australia is proud to have partnered with WUTMI to prevent and end Gender-Based Violence for almost two decades. This shared commitment is at the heart of the Australian-RMI bilateral relationship.β™₯️

Through this partnership, we're excited to increase our level of support and continue partnering with WUTMI out to 2030. We're also glad that President Heine took such a liking to our new 'emotional support crocodiles'.🀣 Jeramman im kommol tata aelop! 🐊

Team Australia was honoured last night to host Foreign Minister Kaneko, Mrs Kaneko and MOFAT Secretary Silk at Wallaby Downs to celebrate the Australian Embassy's fifth anniversary.

We all reflected on the strength of the bilateral relationship between RMI and Australia. With President Heine's historic visit to Australia in February, the arrival of RMIS Jelmae in March and the closer collaboration between our countries in regional and global affairs, our relationship continues to strengthen.

Kommol im jeramman! πŸ‡²πŸ‡πŸŽ‰πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

We're celebrating our fifth birthday today! πŸ‡²πŸ‡πŸŽ‰πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

On 4 May 2021, Australia announced the opening of a new diplomatic mission in the Republic of the Marshall Islands! Temporarily based at Wallaby Downs, the Embassy was opened by ChargΓ© d'Affaires Wade Carruthers and Corporate Services Officer Save Filolita.

Our team is a little bigger now, but thankfully we still have Save with us, using all five years of her experience to help keep the place running πŸ˜….

We'll be sharing more memories throughout the week. Be sure to wish us a happy birthday in the comments and share any of your own photos or recollections πŸŽ‚

Senator Daisy Alik-Momotaro (Special Envoy for Gender, Youth and Children Affairs) is attending the Women Deliver 2026 Conference in Narrm (Melbourne) this week, along with almost 6000 other delegates from 189 countries!

This is the first time the global gathering of gender equality advocates has been held in the Pacific. Senator Daisy is joined by other members of RMI's NGO sector, and we're looking forward to sharing more photos from their trip soon! πŸŽ‰

At dawn on 25 April, we gathered in Majuro, as we do every year, to commemorate ANZAC Day. We remembered the Australian and New Zealand men and women who gave their lives in war and peacekeeping so others may live in peace. And we expressed our deepest gratitude to all who have served, past and present. πŸ•ŠοΈ

We thank Ministers Tony Muller and Gerald Zackios for honoring us with their attendance on behalf of the people and Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, as well as the many Australians, New Zealanders and friends who joined the Australian Embassy and Royal Australian Navy in Majuro for this solemn ANZAC Dawn Service. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί πŸ‡²πŸ‡

Lest we forget. 🌺
