After more than two and a half years of dedicated service as Second Secretary at the Australian Embassy, we bid a fond farewell to Kallan! 👋

Throughout his time in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Kallan has been a valued colleague, bringing professionalism, leadership, and a genuine commitment to strengthening the partnership between Australia and the Marshall Islands. His contributions have left a lasting impact on our team and the communities we work with. 💚

Highlights of Kallan's time here included advancing Australia's and RMI's development priorities, working closely with local government leaders and communities, supporting Direct Aid Program (DAP) projects, and building strong partnerships with organisations such as WUTMI RMI, MIDPO, Jo-Jikum, and Waan Aelõñ in Majel (Canoes of the Marshall Islands). He also treasured the opportunity to spend time with local friends and families, creating meaningful connections and memories that will stay with him long after his departure. 🇦🇺🤝🇲🇭

Kallan has also been a wonderful member of our Embassy family, bringing warmth, good humour, and positivity to the workplace. It has been a pleasure working alongside him and sharing in the many experiences of his time in RMI. 🙌

As Kallan embarks on his next chapter, we thank him for his service, dedication, and friendship. We wish him every success, happiness, and adventure in the years ahead. 🤗

Kommol tata Kallan, safe travels and best wishes for the future.! ✨

Last weekend, Foreign Ministers Kalani Kaneko, Penny Wong and other Pacific delegates joined Australian First Nations people on country in the Northern Territory at the Garma Festival, the annual gathering of storytelling, sharing experiences and celebrating culture and tradition. The enduring connections between First Nations Australians and Pacific peoples strengthen our Blue Pacific region. It was a time to listen and share with RMI as a valued member of the Pacific family. The Department of Home Affairs has now completed their random selection of the 2026-27 PEV ballot.
Keep an eye on your selection status in your ImmiAccount as well as the email you used to register in the ballot. The Department will email Notification of Selection letters to those drawn in the selection process.

Following the selection process, if you have been selected your selection status will change from RECEIVED to SELECTED.

If you have not received an email or your ImmiAccount status is still showing RECEIVED, you have not been drawn in the ballot.

We encourage those randomly selected in the ballot to connect with the free PEV Support Service for help understanding the visa process, connecting with Australian employers and preparing for life in Australia.

Last week was another great week for the RMI-Australia partnership, with Foreign Minister Kaneko’s third visit to Australia. 🇦🇺 🇲🇭

Head of the Office of the Pacific Elizabeth Peak hosted Minister Kaneko, Secretary Silk and Ambassador Aini in Canberra. The visit to Australia’s capital was an opportunity to discuss a future RMI Embassy, including with some of the 10 Pacific countries already represented there. Jeramon! 🤝
