As a UNESCO World Heritage city, Melaka reflects centuries of exchanges between Asia and Europe. HE Marc Abensour had the great opportunity to discover this remarkable state from July 26 to 27 and to walk through its historic streets.

Beyond its exceptional heritage, the ambassador was honoured to be received by TYT Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka, and to exchange views on the many opportunities to further strengthen France–Malaysia cooperation.

His visit continued with two companies that illustrate the depth of the industrial links between France and Malaysia.

At Joubert Group Malaysia, he met a French company that has been established in Melaka since 1989. Its longstanding presence is a strong example of how French companies can grow locally, develop expertise and become part of Malaysia’s industrial landscape.

At CTRM, he had the opportunity to learn more about the Malaysian expertise that contributes to Airbus programmes and to the global aerospace industry. The visit highlighted Melaka’s role in international value chains and the high level of technical know-how developed in the State.

The final whistle may not have gone our way, but Les Bleus leave this tournament with their heads held high.

Congratulations to Kylian Mbappé, whose outstanding performances throughout the competition earned him the ✨ Golden Boot ✨ as the tournament's top scorer. An individual achievement that reflects exceptional talent, determination and consistency on football's biggest stage.

Football is about resilience as much as victory. We are proud of the journey of the French team and thank all the supporters who stood behind Les Bleus every step of the way.

Bravo, Kylian. Bravo, Les Bleus. 🇫🇷⚽

As Malaysia works toward carbon neutrality by 2050 while addressing growing energy demands, the interview explored how nuclear energy could offer a reliable, low-carbon baseload power source that enhances energy security and sovereignty.

On July 14th, the Résidence de France welcomed our Malaysian partners, members of the diplomatic community, friends of France and representatives of the French community to celebrate France’s National Day.

The Fourteenth of July commemorates both the birth of the French Republic and the enduring values that continue to guide us. More than two centuries later, the values of Liberté, Égalité and Fraternité remain at the heart of French democracy. They are not simply historical ideals, but daily commitments: to protect individual freedoms, promote equal opportunities, and strengthen solidarity and mutual respect.

Ahead of the celebrations, H.E. Marc Abensour spoke on The Breakfast Grille on BFM 89.9 The Business Station about the meaning of Bastille Day, the values of the French Republic and the strength of the France–Malaysia partnership.

France and Malaysia have different histories, cultures and institutions, but both countries share a commitment to building cohesive and inclusive societies where people from diverse backgrounds can live together in peace and respect. Malaysia’s multicultural character is one of its greatest strengths, just as the diversity of modern France continues to enrich our society, culture and national identity.

In a world increasingly marked by division and uncertainty, dialogue, mutual understanding and fraternity remain essential. Tonight’s celebration was also a celebration of the friendship between France and Malaysia, and of our shared ambition to build a more inclusive, innovative and sustainable future together.

Our sincere thanks to our Guests of Honour, YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department responsible for the Federal Territories, and Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Johari Abdul, Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, for joining us for this memorable evening.

Vive la France ! Vive l’amitié franco-malaisienne !
Long live France–Malaysia friendship! 🇫🇷🤝🇲🇾
