35 years of the Weimar Triangle 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇵🇱

Created in 1991 in Weimar, the format brings together France, Germany and Poland around a shared ambition: a stronger, more united and sovereign Europe.

Over three decades, the Weimar Triangle has grown into a flexible platform for trilateral dialogue and joint action.

It also connects governments, parliaments, universities and civil society, fostering cooperation and exchanges across our three countries.

As we celebrate 35 years of the Weimar Triangle, France and Germany in Namibia reaffirm the importance of dialogue, cooperation and European unity in addressing the challenges of today and tomorrow.

🇫🇷 🇳🇦 "Movement” dance seminar at FNCC !

This morning the “Movement” Dance Seminar was opened by H.E. Ms. Cécile Vigneau, Ambassador to Namibia at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) in Windhoek.

This seminar is a key part of the MOVEMENT Dance Festival, which is designed to contribute to the contemporary dance sector’s development in Namibia. The Festival is funded by the French Embassy.

We were delighted to welcome on this occasion two distinguished French dance experts: Ms. Valérie Lafont, Director of Lalanbik CDCN - océan, National Centre for choreographic development, and Mr. Laurent van Kote, former Head of the Dance Department at the French Ministry of Culture, international adviser in performing arts who will actively take part in the discussions.

Organized by Ombetja Yehinga Organisation and FNCC, the 3-days long seminar brings together key stakeholders from Namibia’s dance sector, such at the ministry of culture, the College of the Arts, the National Theatre of Namibia, University of Namibia, the Dance Academy, in order to foster ideas on the way forward, encourage collective initiatives, devise a plan for the sustainable development of the sector and at the end of the day to create opportunities for all dance-related professions in Namibia.
This is a contribution to the development of the cultural and creative industries sector in Namibia, as we also celebrate today the International Youth Day !
