my neighbor had six children and in her old age no one looked after her; having children doesn't guarantee you anything.

Because children are not a retirement plan… they’re human beings with their own lives, choices, and limitations. Love doesn’t always translate into care, and proximity doesn’t always mean support.

Security in old age comes from planning, community, and mutual relationships — not just biology.

So having children should be about wanting to raise them… not expecting them to repay you later.

The chairs were placed gently in a circle, not too many, just enough.

For a while, the room waited in silence.

This workshop is for those entering or living in retirement who feel a quiet shift,
less structure, fewer conversations, more questions than answers.
For those who still want to grow, learn, reflect, and stay mentally, emotionally, and socially engaged.
For those who value dignity, independence, and community as they age.

SilverHill Nest offers a guided space to reconnect with purpose, build practical life skills, and prepare intentionally for this chapter , surrounded by peers who understand the journey.

This is not about starting over.
It’s about continuing well.

SilverHill Nest created The Next Chapter Workshop for those who want more than simply “getting by.”
It is a guided space for reflection, wellbeing, connection, and preparation, so ageing is lived with dignity, structure, and purpose.
This is not about fixing you.
It is about supporting you , thoughtfully, respectfully, intentionally.
Some chapters deserve to be entered consciously.
