The Namibia Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) was honoured to support the 2026 Project Never Walk Alone Annual Fundraising Gala Dinner through the sponsorship of a gala dinner table for ten guests, contributing to the initiative's efforts to raise funds for vulnerable and barefoot children across Namibia.
As one of the country's notable charitable fundraising events, the gala dinner brought together government leaders, corporate partners, development stakeholders, and community members in support of a shared cause: ensuring that no Namibian child is denied dignity, confidence, or access to education due to a lack of proper footwear. The event was further distinguished by the presence of the Vice President of the Republic of Namibia, Her Excellency Dr. Lucia Witbooi, who delivered the keynote address.
The annual gala dinner serves as a key fundraising platform for Project Never Walk Alone, mobilising resources to provide quality footwear to children in need while fostering national solidarity and community support.
Through this contribution, made in line with the NCAA's Corporate Social Investment objectives, the Authority joined fellow stakeholders in supporting an initiative that continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children across Namibia.

On 27 May 2026 in Windhoek, Signa Aviation Training Academy hosted the AME Award Ceremony, celebrating Namibia’s second cohort of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering graduates alongside key stakeholders, training institutions, and industry partners.

The event marked an important milestone in Namibia’s aviation skills development journey, highlighting continued efforts to strengthen the country’s technical workforce and build a sustainable pipeline of qualified aviation professionals. It also reflected broader national priorities around youth empowerment, technical education, and the growth of a competitive aviation sector.

A key focus of the ceremony was the progress made in developing local aviation training capacity. For many years, Namibia relied on external systems for the training, examination, and certification of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, with candidates often required to travel outside the country. This graduation therefore signified a gradual but deliberate shift toward strengthening local technical authority, institutional confidence, and collaboration between training providers, industry stakeholders, and bodies such as the Namibia Training Authority.

The Executive Director of the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority, Ms. Toska Sem, attended the ceremony and underscored the importance of continued investment in aviation training infrastructure and partnerships to support the sector’s long-term growth, including emerging areas such as RPAS and aviation firefighting.

The ceremony reflected a shared commitment to building a stronger, self-sustaining aviation training ecosystem for Namibia’s future.
