Charlotte Maenge Shipiki - Kali, Chief Operating Officer of Debmarine Namibia, will be one of the featured speakers at the Chamber of Mines of Namibia Safety Conference 2026, taking place on 4 August 2026 at the Windhoek Showgrounds.
With 32 years of experience across Namdeb, Debmarine Namibia, the De Beers Group of Companies and Anglo American, Charlotte has built an exceptional career spanning metallurgy, marine mining operations, business optimisation and executive leadership. She has held senior roles including Metallurgical Manager, Divisional Metallurgist, Vessel Manager and Business Optimisation Manager, and currently oversees Debmarine Namibia’s fleet of five production vessels and one sampling vessel.
Throughout her career, Charlotte has contributed to global multidisciplinary mining teams conducting asset reviews and fatality elimination assessments across operations in Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Australia, Canada, Chile and Brazil. Her extensive experience in operational excellence, safety leadership and risk management brings valuable insight to conversations on creating safer and more resilient mining operations.
A passionate advocate for coaching, mentoring and digital transformation, Charlotte believes that the full potential of digitalisation can further strengthen safety performance and improve the entire mining value chain. She has also served as Deputy Chairperson of the NamWater Board of Directors and the Diamond Board of Namibia (DIBONA), contributing to governance and strategic leadership at national level.
