WE LISTENED AND WE DELIVERED, SAYS PM: Prime Minister Dr. Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare says the government has demonstrated its commitment to responsive leadership by acting swiftly on concerns raised by teachers and learners, culminating in the successful revamp of Ngcove Primary School.
Speaking during the inauguration of the newly renovated Ngcove Primary School in Ndama, Rundu, on Friday, Dr. Ngurare recalled a visit to the school in September last year, when government officials listened to the challenges faced by the school community.
“On 25 September 2025, we met with teachers, learners, including many orphans and San learners. The principal and founder narrated the circumstances they had endured and expressed their hope that the government would hear their plea. A listening government has delivered, and that is why we are here today,” said Dr. Ngurare.
The Prime Minister said the project reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that every Namibian child has access to quality education in a conducive learning environment.
He stressed that no child should be left behind because of inadequate educational facilities.
“The Government remains committed to creating learning environments that inspire excellence, creativity and lifelong learning. The classrooms we are inaugurating today contribute directly to these national aspirations,” he said.
Dr. Ngurare further noted that the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) recognises that an educated and skilled population is indispensable for economic competitiveness, innovation, social inclusion and sustainable development.
He said investments in education infrastructure are central to building a prosperous Namibia and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to realise their full potential.
