💧🌍 From Nigeria to Geneva! 🇳🇬🇨🇿

We are proud to see the experience of the EU Twinning Project on Smart Agriculture in Nigeria featured at a panel co-organized by the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan during the WTO Trade and Environment Week in Geneva. 🌱

Dr. Mustapha Madaki Yakubu, an alumnus of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) and Resident Twinning Adviser for the project, shared insights on sustainable water management, climate adaptation, and agriculture in Africa. 🚜💦 The Czech University of Life Sciences Prague is one of the key partners involved in the Twinning Project.🇪🇺

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abuja is pleased to have helped connect Dr. Madaki with the organizers, bringing valuable Nigerian perspectives to this important international discussion. 🤝

🇨🇿🤝🇳🇬 Czech-Nigerian cooperation in action! 🌱🚜

Ambassador Tomáš Výprachtický and Commercial Counsellor Marie Nwanyanwu were pleased to welcome a delegation from the University of Abuja, Faculty of Agriculture 🇳🇬, accompanied by representatives of JIL Farms & Equipment Ltd. and facilitated by Engr. Adewale Daniel Adenubi, Director of Czech Tech Solutions Ltd., the Nigerian branch of the Czech company Knights.

The delegation included:

• Prof. A. Fawehinmi, Vice-Chancellor, University of Abuja
• Prof. Akeem Oyerinde, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture
• Dr. Ayo Akere, CEO, JIL Farms & Equipment Ltd.

The discussion focused on exciting opportunities in:

🚜 Mechanized farming and agricultural modernization
🎓 Student training and capacity building
🌍 University exchange and professional development programmes
💡 Technology transfer, innovation, and stronger links between Nigerian and Czech institutions

A particular milestone is the recently signed MoU between University of Abuja and Czech Tech Solutions Ltd. ✍️ The first shipment of Czech-made mini tractors—specially adapted for African soil conditions—is already on its way to Lagos Port 🚢 and will soon be supporting agricultural education and practical training for students.

We look forward to seeing these tractors in action and hearing feedback from the next generation of Nigerian agricultural professionals. 🌾👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

Partnerships like this demonstrate how education, innovation, and business can work together to support sustainable agricultural development. 🌱

🇨🇿🤝🇳🇬 Yesterday, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Nigeria, Tomáš Výprachtický, met with the Inspector-General of Police of the Nigeria Police Force, Olatunji Rilwan Disu. The meeting was also attended by diplomat Martina Nikodémová and Engr. Adewale Daniel Adenubi of Czech Tech Solutions Ltd., the Nigerian branch of Czech company Knights.

🛡️ Discussions focused on opportunities to deepen Czech–Nigerian bilateral cooperation in the defence industry, as well as on the potential involvement of Czech companies in infrastructure projects of Police Forces in Nigeria 🚧🏗️.

🌍 Wildlife Diplomacy in Action: From Czechia back to the Kenyan Wild! 🇨🇿🤝🇰🇪

We are thrilled to share a historic success story of international cooperation and nature conservation! 🦌✨

Four critically endangered Mountain Bongos have officially returned to their ancestral home in Kenya from the Safari Park Dvůr Králové in the Czech Republic. This major translocation is a vital step in saving one of Africa’s rarest large mammals from the brink of extinction.

Highlights of the Journey:

✈️ The four males arrived safely at Nairobi Airport after a flight from Amsterdam, accompanied by over half a ton of specialized feed to aid their acclimation.

🤝 Our colleague, the Czech Ambassador to Kenya, Nicol Adamcová, officially handed over the animals to the Kenyan government under the high patronage of the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel.

📍 Their new home is the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy (MKWC), where they will boost genetic diversity and support the national recovery plan for this magnificent species.

Why it matters:

With fewer than 100 Mountain Bongos left in the wild, accredited zoos act as a modern-day "Noah's Ark". This project proves that conservation knows no borders, connecting experts from Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Denmark, and the UK with Kenyan partners to protect our planet's biodiversity 🌍💚.

Together, we’re launching a Community 3D Printing Centre financed by the Česká rozvojová agentura - CzechAid under the framework of small-scale development projects. 🇨🇿🇳🇬

The centre will support hands-on STEAM education and empower young innovators, equipped with top-tier 3D printers from Prusa Research 3D printers.🖨️🧑🏽‍🏫
