Today, I was represented at two separate 2026 August Women gatherings in Item and Abam communities of Abia North Senatorial District.

At the 2026 August Women Conference of Item Women, my goodwill message was delivered to the women, appreciating their important role in the development of their families, communities and society at large. I encouraged them to continue to be good role models to their children and to remain committed to the peace, unity and progress of their communities.

At the Inyom Abam Onyerubi Development Union, Home & Abroad 2026 August Meeting, another representative delivered my goodwill message to the women, the traditional ruler and members of his cabinet.

I commended the women for their contributions to their families and communities and encouraged them to continue raising responsible children who will contribute positively to society.

I appreciate the women of Item and Abam for their warm reception and goodwill and wish them successful celebrations.

God bless our mothers and women across all the communities of Abia North, from Arochukwu to Ohafia, Bende, Isuikwuato and Umunneochi, and Abia State in general.

Today, I celebrate millions of Nigerian youths whose courage, creativity and determination continue to inspire hope in our nation. Despite the challenges, you continue to pursue your dreams, acquire skills, build businesses and contribute meaningfully to national development.

I understand that these are not easy times for many young Nigerians, but I urge you not to lose hope. Nigeria believes in your potential, and we must continue working to create greater opportunities and an environment where every young person can thrive.

Our youths are not only leaders of tomorrow; you are important partners and leaders in the Nigeria of today.

Today, I joined other distinguished Nigerians at the unveiling of the new face of the Alaba International Market Association (Electronics Section), Ojo, Lagos.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State and the APC governorship candidate in Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd); and other dignitaries.

I congratulate the leadership and traders of Alaba International Market on this remarkable achievement and wish them continued growth and prosperity.

Yesterday, I paid a courtesy visit to Chief Harvey Ugochukwu Igboanugo (HAVYDON), Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ziloc Construction Ltd.

I always value opportunities to interact with Nigerian entrepreneurs, irrespective of their tribe or religion. Building relationships, exchanging ideas and encouraging enterprise are important to national development. We must continue to inspire and support the next generation of entrepreneurs.

The decision by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to approve a salary increase for members of the Nigerian Armed Forces deserves commendation. It reflects an understanding that the welfare of those who defend our nation should remain a priority.

Every day, our servicemen and women make enormous sacrifices to protect lives, safeguard our territorial integrity and confront the security challenges facing our country. Supporting them with better welfare is not only the right thing to do, but also an investment in a stronger and more effective security system.

As this important gesture is being implemented, I encourage our military and other security agencies to continue to justify the confidence reposed in them by serving Nigerians with courage, professionalism, fairness and respect for human dignity. Nothing inspires public confidence more than security personnel who carry out their constitutional responsibilities with dedication and integrity.

A secure nation is the foundation of economic growth, national unity and sustainable development. With improved welfare, renewed commitment and the support of all Nigerians, I believe we can continue to make meaningful progress in securing our country.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I paid a condolence visit today, to my dear brother and friend, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, at his residence following the passing of his beloved mother.

Losing a mother is a profound loss, and I joined him and his family to offer my heartfelt condolences, prayers, and support during this difficult time. I pray that Almighty God grants the departed eternal rest and gives the entire Amaechi family the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

I commend the meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria. In every thriving democracy, sincere engagement between government and respected institutions is essential to nation-building.

The Catholic Church has always played an important role in promoting justice, peace, moral values and national unity. Likewise, the President carries the enormous responsibility of leading our country through difficult economic and security challenges.

Open and honest conversations such as this create an opportunity to listen, reflect and work together in the best interest of Nigerians. Constructive criticism should be received in good faith, while the efforts of government to address our challenges also deserve fair and objective assessment.

Our collective goal should not be division but progress. Regardless of political, religious or ethnic differences, we must continue to support every sincere effort that will strengthen our democracy, improve the economy, enhance security and give hope to our people.

Nigeria belongs to all of us, and together we can build the peaceful, prosperous and united nation we desire.
