Whītau School It is exciting times at Whītau School for a number of reasons, one of those being the major school redevelopment.

Whītau School is a contributing primary school in the east of Christchurch providing ‘Focused Learning Achieving eXcellence’; with our school’s vision ‘Learning to take us places…’ and our values of Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be a Learner. All building work has been completed so students enjoy safe, state-of-the art learning spaces that are designed for 21st century learning with plans in place for landscaping and new playgrounds.

We had the New Zealand Playhouse visiting our school today. The children enjoyed this production of, ‘Puss in Gumboots’....

We had the New Zealand Playhouse visiting our school today. The children enjoyed this production of, ‘Puss in Gumboots’. This modern eco-conscious comedy explores themes of community and the digital world. The show was engaging and provided lots of laughs.

A massive mihi to all of our whānau who took part in our Learning Conferences. It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout and to have so many whānau engaging in their children's learning. Thank you for taking the time to connect with our kaiako and support your tamariki.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to our Mihi Whakatau tomorrow at 9.00am.

What an amazing start to our Matariki Celebration Day!

It may have been a freezing morning, but that didn't stop the excitement. Our ākonga were up early preparing the fire, and as you can see, Nikau did a fantastic job getting it started.

The fog has now lifted, the kai is about to be laid, and we're looking forward to a wonderful day of learning, connection, and celebration together.

What a great day to be at kura!

Only one more sleep until our Matariki Celebration! We are so excited for the big day. A huge thank you to Whaea Aleshia for all of her incredible mahi in bringing this celebration together. We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
