Anglican Family Care

Anglican Family Care We provide free, professional social work support to Otago children and their families. We work together one on one, at your pace, at your place.

We offer free and voluntary services to support parents/caregivers living in Otago, who may be facing challenges which are impacting on their family's well-being. Our services aim to strengthen parent/child relationships and increase skills, knowledge and confidence so that tamariki thrive in safe, loving environments. Our mission is to work together with Otago whānau to make change that inspires hope for a better future.

As we celebrate World Breastfeeding Week, we're highlighting local opportunities for parents and caregivers to connect, learn, and access support.

💜 Celebrating 15 Years of The Breast Room: The Breast Room is celebrating 15 years of supporting parents, babies, and whānau across our community. Join them for a special morning tea to acknowledge this milestone and the difference they have made for local families.

Today marks the beginning of World Breastfeeding Week.

This year's theme, Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works, recognises the importance of supporting parents and babies through informed choices, connection, and community support.

Breastfeeding can provide many benefits for both pēpi and parents, supporting healthy development, connection, and wellbeing. It is also a natural, renewable food source that produces no packaging waste, contributing to a more sustainable future.

At Anglican Family Care, our Family Start team understands the importance of supporting whānau in the early years and helping tamariki get the best possible start in life.

Supporting whānau through life's journeys begins with strong foundations. Throughout the week, we'll be sharing local resources, events, and information that help strengthen what works for tamariki and whānau.

For nearly ten years, OCEANS has supported tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau in North Otago. We've heard from local communities that South Otago needs this support too.

Local whānau deserve access to grief support close to home.

That's why we're working to bring OCEANS to South Otago.
