Awesome news
Firstly last week's bill covering volunteers and now this which will provide ACC cover for all firefighters.
Now let's see who actually supports Firefighters in parliament!

Today is a historic day for NZ’s firefighters as the first step to recognising occupational cancers has been taken with Greens MP Mike Davidson’s presumptive legislation Bill.

The NZPFU has been working with Mike Davidson - Green Party MP and his staff to get the Bill to this stage. The NZ Greens Bill recognises 21 cancers for both career and volunteer firefighters exposed to the hazards of a fire scene. The Bill extends that protection to fire investigators who are exposed to the off-gassing of toxic structure fires.

The NZPFU membership is celebrating this significant and historic step. We greatly appreciate MP Mike Davidson’s and the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand’s support.

We cannot overstate the significance of this Bill for generations of firefighters to come!

This is not a new organization. It's 9 years old!

This is beyond belief.......

Newly released emails under the OIA show FENZ executives staged mock practice sessions before fronting Parliament. When forced to correct their answers to the Select Committee, the Chief Executive managed the spin—telling staff to ensure they looked like "honest errors."

Stop practising the script and start fixing the dire emergency.

It's our 2 year anniversary of no contract!
3 years since our last wage increase.
Negotiations consist of discussing drivers for change and the employment relations authority want NZPFU to negotiate by email???
