HSM is a dedicated Security & Fire Services experts in NZ, providing security solutions for homes and businesses to keep Kiwis safe & secure.

https://hsmgroup.co.nz/ My Dad, Fred Stevenson, and I, are passionate about people and keeping an eye on their homes, businesses and investments. Fred opened HomeSafe New Zealand in 1997 in of all places, a converted pack shed on an apple orchard. It’s small and humble beginnings have not, be any means, defined its growth. It wasn’t long before I joined my father full-time in the business and brought along a wealth of experience. By the year 2000, the company acquired its first monitoring station and re-branded as HSM and in 2007 HSM moved into its current purpose-built premises with a state-of-the-art monitoring station where we now monitor hundreds of clients and their valuables throughout New Zealand. Both Dad and I are actively involved in the business from the front and employ a hands-on approach to support staff and customers.

Working in security, we spend a lot of time looking out for others. Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder to look out for the people around us too.

Mental health looks different for everyone. Check in on the people you know are having a hard time, your quiet friends, funny friends, busy friends and outgoing friends. You can’t always tell how someone is feeling from the outside.

Starting the conversation can feel like the hardest part. You might worry about saying the wrong thing, but you don’t need perfect words. A simple “How are you going?” and the time to listen can help someone feel less alone.

And if you’re finding things hard yourself, it’s okay to say so.

This World Animal Day, we’re thinking about the pets waiting for us at home. They can’t call for help if something goes wrong, but a 24/7 monitored smoke alarm can alert our team from the first signs of smoke.

This October marks 29 years of HSM!

As we celebrate our birthday, we want to say thank you to the clients who have trusted us over the years and to the people who make HSM what it is today.

We’ll be sharing a few memories throughout the month and celebrating the team, clients and community who have been part of our story. Thank you for being part of it.

Over the past few days, monitored businesses have experienced two break-ins and a robbery.

Further vehicle theft, property damage and break-ins have also been reported across Napier, Hastings and Havelock North.

We’ve published a community update outlining what has happened and some practical reminders to help protect your workplace, staff and property.
