Development Officer – Touch Southland

Touch Southland is looking for a motivated Development Officer to help grow Touch across the Southland and Queenstown region.

This is a hands-on community role working with schools, volunteers, and partners to increase participation, support events, and develop players, coaches, and officials, with a strong focus on growing and supporting referees within the sport.

The role includes delivering programmes and modules (including some evening and weekend work), supporting tournaments and representative pathways, building strong local relationships, and promoting Touch through community engagement and social media. Travel across the region is required, with a vehicle and cell phone provided.

You’ll also gain valuable exposure to the wider operations of Touch Southland, supporting the day-to-day running of the organisation and developing your capability to take on broader responsibilities over time.

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds. Experience in community sport, coaching, officiating, or development work is highly valued, along with strong communication skills, the ability to create engaging social media content, and a genuine passion for inclusive sport.

If you enjoy being out in the community and making a real difference through sport, we’d love to hear from you. Please email your CV and Cover Letter to [email protected] to apply. Applications close Sunday 1st March.
