2026 Fringe Festival Taranaki – Featuring The Nukes Ukelele Trio

• Date: Friday 13th November Location: Inglewood Primary

Senior Workshop (for 7 students): 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM (Parental transport required for workshop participants). These students will learn: ukelele, dance, percussion, singers, and be part of the show.

Fringe Festival Show (Midhirst School Years 2–8): 10:30 AM – 11:20 AM (Buses depart Midhirst School at 10:00 AM and return by 12:00 PM) PS please remember some year 8 students will be at the SHS Orientation Day.

CHEEP, CHEEP, HOORAY! What an egg-citing morning! Harriet’s lovely Mum, Carly, popped in with FOUR adorable baby chicks who are just 4 days old! There were lots of excited faces, curious questions and happy squeals as our tamariki got up close to our fluffy visitors! Kaitake joined Ngā Motu so nobody missed out on the chick-tastic fun! We watched, wondered and discovered all about our tiny, fluffy friends! Miss Kerr had just as much fun as the tamariki! A HUGE thank you to Carly for sharing your gorgeous little chicks with us. What a special morning!

Congratulations, Adonijah Ruston!

We’re proud to celebrate Adonijah, who represented the Hāwera Under-14 basketball team at the Hoopnations tournament in Tauranga over the weekend!

Adonijah played six games across four days, competing alongside teams from across New Zealand and Australia. With more than 300 teams taking part, it was a fantastic opportunity to gain experience, develop skills and enjoy some great basketball.

Ka pai, Adonijah! We’re proud of your efforts and dedication.

Kia ora whānau!

Just a reminder that senior students Yr 5-8 need to be at school by 8:30am on Monday the 2nd of November so we can get to Toko Athletics on time as the bus leaves at 8:45am.
Please make sure your child arrives promptly so we can get the roll done and get ready to go!

Students will need to bring: School uniform, comfortable running shoes, a hat, a full water bottle, plenty of food and snacks for the day.

Sunscreen will be provided at school but if you could slip, slop, slap before that would be great! Please make sure everything is named!

Last night, Geordie and Daniel proudly represented our school at the Toko and District Lions Club Speechmaker Contest.

Both students did a fantastic job presenting their prepared speeches, with Daniel's entertaining speech on dad jokes, while Geordie shared a humorous and relatable insight into what it’s like being the middle child. They also rose to the challenge of the impromptu speeches, demonstrating confidence, quick thinking and great public speaking skills.

A huge congratulations Geordie, who achieved an impressive 3rd place overall! 🥉
