The Waitaki Resource Recovery Park is a Community-owned enterprise run by the Waitaki Resource Recovery Trust established in 2003 with the intention to ‘optimise the amount of material diverted from landfill to beneficial uses through Community ownership of our resource streams’. We accept a full range of recyclable and resaleable items which are available for purchase in our ‘Get Sorted’ shop. We

also accept domestic greenwaste which is converted to mulch and available for purchase at the Park. Materials which are unable to be reused or recycled are accepted at the Park and disposed of at the Oamaru transfer station. The Waitaki Resource Recovery Trust is primarily self-funded with supportive funding from the Waitaki District Council. We look forward to welcoming you to the Park and thank you for your support! Drop-Off Charges:
Recyclable Materials – $4
Re-saleable Items – No charge
Greenwaste (without grass) – $25 per cubic metre
Grass Clippings – $180 per cubic metre
Electrical Appliances – $180 per cubic metre (some items are no charge)
General Rubbish – $180per cubic metre ($11 per 65 litre bag)

We sell mulch, pig manure, compost and top soil by the tractor scoop or bag. Silent Auction
For the more interesting and sought after items in the shop, a Silent Auction with around 20 lots. Customers are invited to write their bid in a book which is then transferred to the Auction Board.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Councillor Jim Hopkins.

Jim was a kind, caring, and selfless man who generously volunteered at many of our Repair Cafés and Expos. He was a valued supporter of our organisation and truly believed in the work we do for our community.

Jim's warmth, generosity, and dedication touched the lives of so many. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Rest in peace, Jim.

A huge thank you to all our repair cafe volunteers and stall holders. You all are amazing for giving up your time to come and repair people's belongings to keep them out of landfills. We couldn't do it without you.
Also a thank you to all the community that came out to get their items fixed. Hopefully we will see you all and more at our next one. Keep an eye out it will be on the 31st of October.
