SLU-BEDS, Senior High Learning Resource Center Recognizes Class “Library Superstars” for June–August Quarter

The Saint Louis University (SLU) Basic Education School, Senior High recognized seven Senior High School classes as the first batch of "Library Superstars" for the period of June to August 2026. The announcement, made during the Senior High Students Briefing on Safety, Discipline and Updates held last September 17, 2026, honored four sections from Grade 11 and three sections from Grade 12 for recording the highest frequency of visits and active utilization of the Learning Resource Center (LRC).

The quarterly award shifts away from individual reader citations, focusing instead on collective class effort to promote research and reading habits. The winning sections officially announced during the event were:

Grade 11 Categories: 11 FORGE A Saint Apolonia, 11 SHAPE A Saint Blaise, 11 ASCEND B Saint Sebastian, and 11 CARE D Saint Pedro Calungsod.

Grade 12 Categories: 12 HUMSS A Saint Matthew, 12 ABM A - Saint Maximilian Kolbe, and 12 STEM E Saint Gertrude.

During the announcement, the Senior High School student body was warmly invited to look to the LRC as a supportive, open space for their learning needs. The school librarians encouraged learners to maximize the Learning Resource Center for their group projects, academic research, and any other school requirements.

Furthermore, the briefing highlighted that the LRC is not exclusive to strict academic obligations; instead, all Senior High Louisian learners are invited to take a break, step inside, and explore its rich collection of fiction books, graphic novels, and other recreational readings designed for mental breaks, personal enjoyment, and making the LRC their ultimate learning and leisure destination on campus.

SLU-BEDS, Senior High Learning Resource Center Conducts Information Literacy Program and Virtual Orientation
The SLU-BEDS, Senior High Learning Resource Center (LRC) successfully conducted its Information Literacy Program for Grade 12 learners today, July 28, 2026, at the Gerard Decaestecker Function Hall. Focusing on the topic: “Maximizing the Use of LRC Electronic Resources,” the program aimed to equip students with essential skills in navigating and utilizing digital academic resources effectively.
The session featured Mrs. Racquel S. Estrada as the resource speaker, who shared valuable insights on accessing and maximizing the LRC’s electronic databases, e-books, and online tools. Her discussion emphasized the importance of information literacy in enhancing students’ research capabilities and academic performance in today’s digital learning environment.
Simultaneously, the Senior High LRC also facilitated a Virtual Orientation for Grade 11 learners. The orientation introduced students to the LRC’s services, resources, and guidelines, ensuring that they remain well-supported in their academic endeavors.
Both activities highlight the LRC’s commitment to fostering information literacy and promoting the effective use of learning resources among Senior High School students.
