LOOK II PLTCOL EDSEL M CARAMONTE, Chief of Police of the Cabadbaran Component City Component Police Station (CCCPS), attended and actively participated in the Committee Meeting of the Committee on Public Order and Safety, presided over by its Chairperson, Hon. Councilor Val L. Villanueva. The meeting focused on matters concerning public safety, peace and order, crime prevention, and other issues affecting the security and welfare of the residents of Cabadbaran City on August 24,2026.

Personnel of Cabadbaran CPS ,under the leadership of PLTCOL EDSEL M CARAMONTE, Chief of Police, conducted checkpoint operation and police visibility at National Highway, Barangay Sanghan, Cabadbaran City on August 23, 2026 at about 11:43PM.

The activity aimed to ensure public safety and maintain peace and order within the area by reminding motorists to carry their driver’s license and vehicle documents, wear proper safety gear, observe traffic laws and regulations, and ensure the roadworthiness of their vehicles. The operation also served as a preventive measure against criminal activities and other unlawful acts.

Personnel of the Cabadbaran Component City Police Station, under the close supervision of PLTCOL EDSEL M CARAMONTE, Chief of Police, conducted foot patrolling, Oplan Bakal-Sita,Inspection and Visitation of music lounges, karaoke bars, disco houses, beer houses, and other similar establishments within the City of Cabadbaran on August 23, 2026 at about 11:17PM.

The activity aimed to ensure compliance with existing city ordinances, particularly City Ordinance No. 2025-006, which focuses on the prohibition of selling alcoholic beverages to minors, and City Ordinance No. 2025-005, the amended curfew ordinance of the City of Cabadbaran.

During the inspection, owners and operators of the establishments were reminded and advised to strictly observe the provisions of the said ordinances to promote public safety, maintain peace and order, and prevent violations involving minors as will as in relation to Safier Cities Initiatives. The operation was conducted in an orderly manner, and no untoward incidents were reported.

CABADBARAN CITY, AGUSAN DEL NORTE — The Cabadbaran Component City Police Station (CCCPS), under the leadership of PLTCOL EDSEL MONTERO CARAMONTE, Chief of Police, has intensified security measures in schools across Cabadbaran City following the circulation of social media posts containing threats allegedly targeting two schools in the city.

As early as the morning of August 24, 2026, CCCPS personnel were deployed to various schools to strengthen police visibility and ensure the safety and security of students, teachers, and school personnel. The deployment was conducted in coordination with school authorities, teachers, and members of the Civilian Volunteer Organization (CVO) in different barangays where schools are located.

The heightened police presence aims to provide a safe and secure environment within and around school premises, reassure parents and the school community, and enable authorities to immediately respond to any security concern that may arise.

The Cabadbaran CCPS is taking the reported social media threats seriously. A thorough investigation, verification, and assessment are currently underway to determine the credibility and nature of the threats and to identify the individual or individuals responsible for creating and circulating the posts. Police personnel are also coordinating with concerned school authorities and other appropriate agencies as part of the ongoing security assessment.

Police visibility and monitoring in schools will likewise be sustained, particularly during the arrival and dismissal of students, while personnel remain alert to any suspicious activity or information that may pose a threat to the school community.

The Cabadbaran CCPS also urged school administrators, teachers, parents, students, and the general public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious person, activity, or information to the police or proper authorities. The public is likewise reminded not to share, repost, or amplify unverified information that may cause unnecessary panic or fear.

Parents and students are encouraged to remain calm and cooperative with school authorities and law enforcement personnel while the verification process is ongoing. The police emphasized that security measures are being undertaken as a precautionary response to ensure the safety and protection of the entire school community.

The Cabadbaran Component City Police Station remains committed to working closely with schools, barangay officials, community volunteers, and other stakeholders in maintaining peace, order, and public safety.
