CABADBARAN CITY, AGUSAN DEL NORTE โ The Cabadbaran Component City Police Station (CCCPS), under the leadership of PLTCOL EDSEL MONTERO CARAMONTE, Chief of Police, has intensified security measures in schools across Cabadbaran City following the circulation of social media posts containing threats allegedly targeting two schools in the city.
As early as the morning of August 24, 2026, CCCPS personnel were deployed to various schools to strengthen police visibility and ensure the safety and security of students, teachers, and school personnel. The deployment was conducted in coordination with school authorities, teachers, and members of the Civilian Volunteer Organization (CVO) in different barangays where schools are located.
The heightened police presence aims to provide a safe and secure environment within and around school premises, reassure parents and the school community, and enable authorities to immediately respond to any security concern that may arise.
The Cabadbaran CCPS is taking the reported social media threats seriously. A thorough investigation, verification, and assessment are currently underway to determine the credibility and nature of the threats and to identify the individual or individuals responsible for creating and circulating the posts. Police personnel are also coordinating with concerned school authorities and other appropriate agencies as part of the ongoing security assessment.
Police visibility and monitoring in schools will likewise be sustained, particularly during the arrival and dismissal of students, while personnel remain alert to any suspicious activity or information that may pose a threat to the school community.
The Cabadbaran CCPS also urged school administrators, teachers, parents, students, and the general public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious person, activity, or information to the police or proper authorities. The public is likewise reminded not to share, repost, or amplify unverified information that may cause unnecessary panic or fear.
Parents and students are encouraged to remain calm and cooperative with school authorities and law enforcement personnel while the verification process is ongoing. The police emphasized that security measures are being undertaken as a precautionary response to ensure the safety and protection of the entire school community.
