The City Government of Cabadbaran conducted the ๐‘ซ๐’Š๐’”๐’•๐’“๐’Š๐’ƒ๐’–๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐’๐’‡ ๐‘ช๐’‚๐’”๐’‰ ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐‘น๐’Š๐’„๐’† ๐‘จ๐’”๐’”๐’Š๐’”๐’•๐’‚๐’๐’„๐’† ๐’•๐’ ๐‘น๐’†๐’ˆ๐’Š๐’”๐’•๐’†๐’“๐’†๐’… ๐‘ป๐’“๐’Š๐’„๐’š๐’„๐’๐’† ๐‘ซ๐’“๐’Š๐’—๐’†๐’“๐’” today, August 20, 2026, recognizing the important role of the local transport sector in providing daily mobility and service to the people of the city.

The activity was graced by City Mayor Judy Chin Amante and City Vice Mayor Leo Dale A. Corvera, together with Councilor Abner Caga-anan, Chairperson of the Committee on Transportation, Communication and Information, who delivered messages underscoring the vital contribution of tricycle drivers to the community. Also present were Councilors Don Dagani, Doris Paler, and Val Villanueva.

Adding to the discussions, Councilor Celson Sanchez gave a brief overview of the recently approved city ordinance creating the Cabadbaran City Tricycle Fare Regulatory Board (CTFRB), which establishes the Board's composition, powers, and functions, and provides guidelines and procedures for the study, adjustment, and approval of fare matrices for tricycles-for-hire operating within the city, including the fixing of a provisional fare matrix.

Another highlight of the activity was the recognition of ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’Š๐’Ž๐’–๐’…๐’Š๐’ ๐‘ฉ. ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’๐’ˆ๐’„๐’–๐’‘๐’‚๐’, a tricycle driver who demonstrated honesty and integrity by returning to the Mayor's Office the belongings left behind by a passenger in his tricycle. His commendable act was formally recognized and awarded, serving as a meaningful example of honesty and responsibility within the transport sector.

Through initiatives that recognize both the needs and contributions of the transport sector, the City Government of Cabadbaran reaffirm its commitment to supporting those who play an essential role in keeping Cabadbaran moving.

Representatives from the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Vice Mayor and the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Cabadbaran today, August 13, 2026, to discuss their ongoing archaeological investigation in Northeastern Mindanao and coordinate planned fieldwork activities within the city.

Present during the discussion were City Vice Mayor Leo Dale A. Corvera, Councilors Lovejoy Quiambao and Ruby Mae Christine Cong-Ayo, Moses Joshua Atega of Museo de Cabadbaran, together with barangay captains and representatives from the National Museum.

As part of their discussion, NMP shared their plans to coordinate with the barangay captains of Calibunan, La Union, and Caasinan in identifying areas that may contain archaeological materials and cultural artifacts. Given the regionโ€™s historical significance in trade and maritime activities, the investigation will focus on possible ancient waterways, travel routes, and areas associated with early commerce and exchange.

The project forms part of the National Museumโ€™s continuing efforts to uncover evidence of early human settlement, cultural development, and historical connections that shaped Northeastern Mindanaoโ€™s rich heritage.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod expresses its support for initiatives that promote the preservation, protection, and understanding of Cabadbaran Cityโ€™s cultural and historical legacy for future generations.
