We are very happy and grateful to announce that the two missing fishermen from Barangay Mantanas, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur have been found safe.

On behalf of the Barangay Council, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered their prayers, shared our appeal, and supported the search and rescue operation. Your kindness, concern, and unity gave hope during this difficult time.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to Punong Barangay Luzviminda T. Ayawan, the dedicated volunteers, the Sta. Cruz Coast Guard, fellow fishermen, local authorities, and everyone who took part in the search and rescue efforts. Your courage, commitment, and compassion made a great difference.

Above all, we give thanks to Almighty God for His guidance, protection, and for bringing our fishermen home safely.

2nd Day Search and Rescue Operation

Today marks the 2nd day of the search and rescue operation for the two missing fishermen from Barangay Mantanas, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Punong Barangay Luzviminda T. Ayawan, the dedicated barangay volunteers, and the Sta. Cruz Coast Guard for their unwavering commitment and tireless efforts in continuing the search.
We continue to pray and hope for a positive outcome and for the safe return of our two fishermen. May God guide and protect everyone involved in the operation.

URGENT APPEAL FOR SEARCH AND RESCUE
Ang Barangay Council of Barangay Mantanas, sa pangunguna ni Punong Barangay Luzviminda Torres Ayawan , ay taos-pusong nananawagan sa Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Coast Guard, at iba pang kinauukulang ahensya ng pamahalaan na gamitin ang lahat ng maaaring resources, lalo na ang air search and rescue assets, upang mapabilis ang paghahanap sa dalawang nawawalang mangingisda ng Barangay Mantanas, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur:

Malaki po ang maitutulong ng aerial search upang mas mapalawak at mapabilis ang operasyon sa paghahanap sa ating mga kababayang mangingisda.
Lubos din po kaming nagpapasalamat kina Hon. Mayor Teresita C. Valle at Hon. Vice Mayor Atty. Virgilio J. Valle sa kanilang agarang suporta, lalo na sa pagkakaloob ng gasolina na gagamitin ng mga search teams sa patuloy na paghahanap.
Kami rin po ay magalang na humihiling kay Hon. Vice Mayor Atty. Virgilio J. Valle na ipagpatuloy ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa lahat ng kaukulang ahensya upang magamit ang lahat ng available na resources para sa search and rescue operation.
Patuloy po nating ipagdasal ang kaligtasan nina Eddie Neri at Robert Cabuenas. Hinihikayat din namin ang lahat ng mangingisda, mga residente sa baybayin, at sinumang may impormasyon na agad makipag-ugnayan sa mga lokal na awtoridad.

CALLING FOR INFORMATION | MISSING FISHERMEN
Calling the attention of BFAR, the Philippine Coast Guard, local authorities, fellow fishermen, and residents of nearby coastal areas.
We are asking for your help in locating two fishermen from Barangay Mantanas, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur, who have not yet returned from their fishing . They left for the sea yesterday morning.
Missing Fishermen:
• Eddie Neri
• Robert Cabuenas
We appeal to all fishermen and residents along coastal communities to please stay alert. If you have seen their boat or have any information that may help in locating them, kindly inform Punong Brgy. Luzviminda Torres Ayawan, Kgwd Richard Neri and this FB Page Brgy. Mantanas Sta Cruz or the nearest authorities immediately.
Please include them in your prayers.
Lord, guide and protect Eddie and Robert. May You keep them safe and bring them home to their families. 🙏

🌿 Barangay Mantanas Zero Plastic Initiative ♻️🌸

Through the initiative and efforts of the Barangay Council, led by Punong Barangay Luzviminda Torres Ayawan , together with our BHWs led by Coordinator Magie Guarte, CDW, BNS, Barangay Tanod led by Chief Joji Cordova, Barangay Lupon led by Bert Villanueva, and SK Officials led by SK Chairman Mark Angelo Ayawan, Barangay Mantanas continues to promote environmental sustainability through our Zero Plastic Program.
The plastic bottles collected from our clean-up activities are creatively recycled into beautiful flowers for our barangay beautification project. This initiative not only helps reduce plastic waste but also encourages everyone to practice recycling and protect our environment.
Together, let us continue working hand in hand for a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful Barangay Mantanas.

This activity was carried out together with the Barangay Officials led by Punong Barangay Luzviminda Torres Ayawan , Barangay Tanod led by Chief Jojie Cordova , BNS, CDW, BHWs lead by Coordinator Magie J. Guarte , Barangay Lupon led by Bert Villianueva, SK Officials led by SK Chairman Mark Angelo Torres Ayawan , and the 4Ps beneficiaries led by Parent Leader Florenda Torres .

Road Clearing Operation During Habagat

In response to the effects of the Habagat, the Barangay Council of Brgy. Mantanas successfully conducted a Road Clearing Operation to ensure the safety and accessibility of our roads for all residents.
This activity was carried out through the collective efforts of the Barangay Council, led by Punong Barangay Luzviminda Torres Ayawan, together with the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) led by Coordinator Magie Guarte, the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), the Barangay Tanods led by Chief Joji Cordova, and the Barangay Lupon led by Bert Villanueva.

Inspection of the Ongoing Construction of the Barangay Mantanas Arc

The Barangay Council of Brgy. Mantanas, led by Punong Barangay Luzviminda T. Luzviminda Torres Ayawan, conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Barangay Mantanas Arc, another infrastructure project under the current administration.
