The Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), together with its service provider Pasay Harbor City Corporation (PHCC), conducted the ceremonial turnover of Artificial Reef (AR) modules in Maragondon, Cavite, supporting ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and enhance coastal and marine ecosystems.

The initiative is part of PRA’s Coastal Resource Rehabilitation, Management, and Enhancement (CRRME) Program under its Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program (EPEP), in line with its environmental commitments under the San Nicolas Shoal Seabed Quarry Permit.

Prior to deployment, PRA conducted technical and environmental assessments to identify suitable reef designs and sites based on seabed conditions, marine biodiversity, existing reef and seagrass areas, water visibility, and navigational considerations. Stakeholder information and education activities were likewise undertaken to promote community participation and awareness.

The activity was led by PRA General Manager and CEO Engr. Cesar S. Siador Jr., together with Assistant General Manager for Reclamation and Regulation Office Atty. Joseph John M. Literal and Environmental Management Department Manager Ms. Ynna Margarita G. Yalong-Gelomina.

The Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) expresses its appreciation to the House of Representatives for its support for the Philippine International Exhibition Center (PIEC), a major infrastructure initiative aligned with the Bagong Pilipinas development agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. (PBBM).

The PIEC will have a total floor area of 243,000 square meters, including 130,943.59 square meters of convention and exhibition space. Its exhibition halls are designed to accommodate up to 140,000 persons in theater seating, 70,000 in classroom seating, 75,000 for cocktail events, and 62,500 for banquet arrangements with a stage, as well as approximately 7,000 standard exhibition booths.

The PIEC is envisioned to strengthen the Philippines’ capacity to host major international events and advance the country’s Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, while supporting tourism, hotel activity, employment, investment, and business opportunities.

Through the PIEC, the PRA supports the national government’s efforts to expand economic opportunities and develop infrastructure that contributes to the country’s long-term growth under Bagong Pilipinas.

The Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) takes part in the International Coastal Cleanup 2026 through simultaneous cleanup activities at the Las PiΓ±as–ParaΓ±aque Wetland Park (LPPWP) and Tanza, Cavite.

In support of this year’s theme, β€œClean Seas for Resilient Communities,” the activity brings together government agencies, communities, and stakeholders in a collective effort to reduce marine litter, promote responsible waste management, and protect coastal and marine resources.

Through this initiative, PRA contributes to continuing efforts toward cleaner coastlines, healthier marine ecosystems, and more resilient coastal communities.

The Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) discussed the Coastal Management Roadmap being developed under the Technical Cooperation Project with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for Capacity Development in Coastal Engineering for Disaster Resiliency.

After JICA’s presentation of the roadmap, PRA and JICA had an exchange of ideas and sharing of learnings to support the crafting and implementation of an effective coastal management system and strengthen disaster-resilient and sustainable coastal development in the Philippines.

The Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) met with Quezon City University (QCU) President Dr. Theresita V. Atienza to discuss the establishment of the PRA Hydroponics Facility Project at QCU, promoting innovative and sustainable approaches to urban food production.

The meeting discussed the proposed establishment of (Ten) 10 hydroponics units in public schools across Quezon City, which will provide students with hands-on learning opportunities and practical experience in urban agriculture, science, sustainability, entrepreneurship and food production.

Beyond serving as a means of promoting sustainable food production, the initiative aims to make hydroponics a practical learning experience for students, allowing them to apply classroom knowledge, develop new skills, and gain a deeper appreciation for environmental stewardship and food security.
