TAGUIG CITY, PHILIPPINES โ€“ The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Hong Kong (PTIC-HK), supported the expansion of Hong Kongโ€™s Kambal Gallery into the Philippines, underscoring the governmentโ€™s commitment to promoting investments in the creative sector and deepening cultural and business linkages between the Philippines and Hong Kong.

Established in Hong Kong in 2017 by twin sisters Irene Haagen and Anna Pendry, Kambal Gallery was founded on a shared lifelong passion for the arts and a core vision to elevate Filipino artists onto the international art stage. The galleryโ€™s entry into the Philippine market reflects growing investor confidence in the countryโ€™s creative economy and its role as a regional hub for contemporary art and culture.

PTIC-HK Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Atty. Roberto B. Mabalot, Jr. represented PTIC-HK at Kambal Gallery's grand opening ceremony on 8 July 2026 at the Park Triangle Mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. The opening also featured the gallery's inaugural exhibition, "The Launch." This exhibition showcased an excellent lineup of both well-known and upcoming artists from the Philippines, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and Australia, showing the gallery's dedication to building cultural bridges through art.

Atty. Mabalot conveyed DTIโ€™s support for the expansion and emphasized the importance of initiatives that create platforms for Filipino artists to engage with international audiences, strengthen people-to-people ties, and spur inclusive growth in the creative and cultural industries. He also reaffirmed PTIC-HKโ€™s readiness to work with partners in promoting quality investments, facilitating business linkages, and advancing opportunities for Philippine and Hong Kong stakeholders in the arts and broader services sectors.

PTIC-HK remains committed to supporting investors and industry stakeholders and to promoting stronger trade, investment, and cultural cooperation between the Philippines and Hong Kong.
