"BE PREPARED. STAY ALERT. SAVE LIVES."

LOOK: On August 3, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN, the Somerset Valero Makati successfully conducted a seminar on Bomb Threat Awareness, Active Shooter Response, and Robbery Incident Response for its Active Tenants, Employees, and security personnel, in close partnership with the Makati City Police Station, held at the Somerset Valero Makati Function Room, Salcedo Village, Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City.

The activity aimed to raise awareness and equip participants with the knowledge and appropriate responses for emergency situations. Through this seminar, participants learned the importance of staying calm, following safety protocols, and working together to ensure everyone's safety.


Under the leadership of PCOL PEDRO A ALAGANO, JR., the Chief of Police of the Makati City Police Station, an important awareness campaign was launched to prepare the community for potential threats. The Makati SWAT Team took the lead, introducing the essential "Run, Hide, Fight" principle. This proactive strategy equips individuals to respond effectively during an active shooter situation and underscores the vital importance of prevention and preparedness. The session continued with an informative discussion by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD), led by PLT FERDINAND D ANAMONG. Participants learned how to identify, manage, and report bomb threats and gained insight into the serious legal implications of false alarms. Under Presidential Decree No. 1727, attendees were educated on the laws addressing bomb scare incidents and the critical steps required for safe evacuation. To wrap up the activity, the Community Affairs Section, led by PCPT PAMELA C LEAL, delivered an informative lecture on Robbery Incident Response. This engaging discussion armed participants with knowledge, fostering a sense of community vigilance and preparedness across the City.

As part of its continuing commitment to fostering safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environments, the Community Affairs Section of Makati City Police Station conducted an Anti-Bullying and Safe Spaces Act (Republic Act No. 11313) lecture on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Makati High School.

The activity was spearheaded by Chief, Community Affairs Section, PCPT PAMELA C LEAL, together with Community Affairs Section personnel. The lecture provided students with valuable knowledge on the harmful effects of bullying, the importance of promoting mutual respect and inclusivity, and the key provisions of the Safe Spaces Act in preventing gender-based sexual harassment within schools and other public spaces.

Through engaging and interactive discussions, students were encouraged to uphold kindness, empathy, and respect in their daily interactions while recognizing their vital role in helping build a safe, supportive, and bully-free school community.
The initiative reflects the continuing commitment of Makati City Police Station to preventive education and youth engagement as essential components of crime prevention and community development. It was conducted under the strong leadership of PCOL PEDRO A ALAGANO JR., Chief of Police, Makati City Police Station, in support of the Philippine National Police's ongoing efforts to strengthen police-community partnerships and promote a culture of safety, respect, and accountability among the youth.

Demonstrating its commitment to fostering strong collaboration with the local government, the Makati City Police Station, headed by Chief of Police PCOL PEDRO A ALAGANO, JR., together with other PNP Makati Personnel participated in the regular Flag Raising Ceremony held on August 3, 2026, at the Makati City Hall.

The ceremony was attended by City Mayor Hon. Maria Lourdes "Nancy" Binay, city officials, department heads, and employees of the City Government of Makati. The gathering served as a venue to reaffirm the shared values of patriotism, unity, discipline, and dedication to public service among all government agencies.

Through its continued participation in activities of the local government, the Makati City Police Station reinforces its partnership with the City Government of Makati in advancing peace and order, enhancing public safety, and ensuring the efficient delivery of police services for the benefit of every Makatizen.
