PEACE EFFORTS GAIN GROUND AS TWO CTG MEMBERS SURRENDER IN ORIENTAL MINDORO

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), two members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) separately surrendered to authorities in Oriental Mindoro, with one also turning over a fi***rm and am******on, as government security forces continue to open opportunities for peaceful disengagement and return to civilian life.

In Socorro, an NPSR-listed CTG member affiliated with the MRGU under Command Duralite of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee voluntarily surrendered at in Barangay Batong Dalig following sustained dialogue and community engagement by government security and intelligence personnel.

In a separate development in Bongabong, another NPSR-listed CTG member affiliated with the remnants of KLG-MAV, SRMA-4D, also voluntarily surrendered at around 1:30 PM in Barangay Sta. Cruz. The individual turned over one .38-caliber fi***rm without serial number and two live am******on.

The separate surrender efforts involved the PNP’s local and regional units, including the Socorro Municipal Police Station, Bongabong Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division, Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, PNP Special Action Force, as well as the Philippine Army, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, and other government partners.

For PGen Nartatez, the developments demonstrate the value of sustained engagement alongside security operations.

“Hindi lang ito tungkol sa pagsuko ng armas. It is also about giving people a lawful way to step away from armed conflict and rebuild their lives. We will continue to work with our partners and communities so that those who choose peace can be properly assisted,” the Chief PNP said.

The two individuals are undergoing documentation and debriefing and may be considered for enrollment in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), subject to established assessment and requirements.

The PNP continues to support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s peace and security efforts through coordinated police operations and community engagement. These initiatives are in line with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens police coordination and responsive action while addressing security concerns at the community level.

PNP SUSTAINS 24-HOUR OPS; NO. 9 MOST WANTED PERSON, 4 HVIs ARRESTED, ₱211.9M SHABU SEIZED

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), police units across the country arrested a top regional wanted person and four high-value individuals (HVIs) in separate operations that also resulted in the seizure of more than ₱211.9 million worth of suspected shabu.

The operations were conducted in Bacolod City, Las Piñas City, and Iloilo City from September 19 to the early hours of September 20. In Bacolod City, police arrested a legal-age Filipino high-value individual and recovered around 1,000 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately ₱6.8 million.

In Las Piñas City, joint police and anti-drug personnel arrested another legal-age Filipino high-value individual and seized approximately 30,000 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱204 million.

Meanwhile, in Iloilo City, three legal-age Filipino suspects identified as high-value individuals were arrested in a separate operation that led to the recovery of approximately 165 grams of suspected shabu, valued at around ₱1.122 million.

Separately, police in Alamada, Cotabato arrested a legal-age Filipino listed as the Top 9 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 12. The arrest was carried out on September 19 by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder, with no bail recommended. The arrested person remains in police custody for appropriate legal proceedings.

“The message is simple: we remain on the ground, we remain attentive, and we remain committed to our duty. Hindi ito one-day effort. We will sustain these operations, strengthen our partnerships, and continue delivering police service that people can see and feel,” PGen Nartatez said.

He added that the arrests demonstrate the PNP’s continuing focus on both preventing the circulation of illegal drugs and locating persons with standing warrants, while ensuring that the rights of suspects are respected throughout the process.

The operations form part of the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which emphasizes responsive, coordinated, and lawful police action. The PNP continues to support the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in strengthening peace and order and protecting communities from threats to public safety.

The PNP likewise reminds the public to remain vigilant, provide information through proper authorities, and avoid involvement in illegal drugs and other unlawful activities. PNP BACKS WHOLE-OF-COMMUNITY APPROACH TO SAFER SCHOOLS

The PNP supports the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s call for families, schools, communities, and government agencies to work together in protecting children and preventing violence in and around schools.

Following three school shooting incidents reported since June—in Tacloban City, Zamboanga City, and most recently in South Cotabato on September 18—the PNP recognizes the need for sustained preventive efforts that extend beyond school security.

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police, the PNP joins the DILG in encouraging parents and guardians to remain closely involved in their children’s lives, including being attentive to their online activities, the content they access, and warning signs that may require guidance or professional support.

The PNP likewise emphasizes the importance of responsible fi***rm ownership and secure storage, particularly in preventing minors from gaining access to fi***rms. At the same time, concerns involving children must be addressed with care, appropriate intervention, and respect for their rights and welfare.

“We need to be present not only when there is already a problem, but much earlier—when a child needs guidance, when a family sees a warning sign, or when a fi***rm is not properly secured. Dito kailangan ang pakikipagtulungan ng lahat. Hindi ito kayang solusyunan ng isang ahensya lamang,” PGen Nartatez said.

The PNP will continue coordinating with the DILG, Department of Education, local government units, schools, families, and other concerned agencies to strengthen preventive measures and help maintain safe learning environments. These efforts are consistent with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which promotes coordinated and responsive action in addressing emerging threats to public safety.

PNP ALL SET FOR MARTIAL LAW ANNIVERSARY; OVER 17,000 POLICE DEPLOYED

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the PNP is ready to help ensure public safety and maintain peace and order during the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law on September 21, with 17,018 personnel deployed nationwide.

A total of 17,018 personnel have been deployed to ensure police presence, readiness, and timely response in key areas. This includes 8,553 NCRPO personnel, 465 Regional Support Unit personnel, 1,000 Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF), 1,000 personnel from PRO CAR, 1,000 from PRO1, 2,000 from PRO3, 2,000 from PRO4A, and 1,000 personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard.

As part of the heightened security preparations, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) placed its units under Full Alert Status effective 12:01 AM on September 18, 2026, with full deployment beginning on the evening of September 19.

Police units are maintaining close coordination with local government units and other concerned agencies while preparing to respond to situations that may arise. Chief PNP Nartatez directed personnel to exercise maximum tolerance, restraint, and professionalism, particularly during public assemblies.

“We are ready for the activities on September 21. Our job is to keep people safe while respecting their right to peacefully express themselves. Nakaantabay ang ating mga pulis, and I expect every personnel to exercise maximum tolerance, sound judgment, and professionalism,” PGen Nartatez said.

He also called on participants to help keep the observance safe and orderly.

“To those joining the activities, express your views peacefully, respect one another, and follow reasonable safety instructions when necessary. Kung may concern or emergency, approach our police personnel or responders. We are there to assist and ensure everyone’s safety,” he added.

The PNP reminds the public to keep emergency routes and access points clear, avoid actions that may endanger others, and promptly report medical, safety, or security concerns to police personnel or emergency responders. Participants are likewise encouraged to look after children and other vulnerable individuals in their groups.

The security preparations are aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which promotes coordinated, responsive, and accountable police service. Under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the PNP continues to uphold public safety, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.
