DASIG IN ACTION: PFM OLMEDO STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH TITAY LGU

FSUPT REGGY A OLMEDO, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal of Zamboanga Sibugay, paid a courtesy call to Mayor Riorita M. Castillo of Titay to further strengthen the partnership between the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Municipal Government in promoting the safety and welfare of Titayanons.

During the meeting, FSUPT OLMEDO expressed his gratitude for the support of Mayor Castillo and the LGU to the BFP. As a proud Sibugaynon, FSUPT OLMEDO emphasized his commitment to serving his fellow Sibugaynons with dedication, compassion and a genuine desire to protect lives and communities.

Mayor Castillo reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the programs and initiatives of the BFP. For her, "Dasig" means the motivation and determination to serve the people of Titay wholeheartedly. She emphasized that supporting the BFP is one of the ways the local government fulfills its responsibility of protecting the community and ensuring the safety and well-being of every Titayanon.

United by the spirit of "Dasig", the BFP and the Municipality of Titay continue to work hand in hand in building a safer, stronger, and more resilient community.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ || Titay Municipal Fire Station Shift A Duty Personnel promptly responded to a medical emergency at Brgy. Poblacion, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay on June 2, 2026.

Upon arrival at the scene, responders found a 34-year-old male patient lying on the ground and actively experiencing a seizure. The patient was unresponsive during the episode and exhibited generalized tonic-clonic movements. Responders immediately secured the area, maintained airway patency, and positioned the patient appropriately to reduce the risk of aspiration while continuously monitoring his condition.

Following the cessation of seizure activity, emergency medical care and supportive interventions were provided. Vital signs were assessed and monitored while preparations for transport were made. The patient gradually regained consciousness and showed improved responsiveness during transport.

The patient was safely transported via BFP Ambulance (LIVA 1) to Dr. George T. Hofer Medical Center for further evaluation and definitive medical management. Upon arrival, the patient was properly endorsed to the attending physician for continuity of care.

Titay Municipal Fire Station remains committed to providing prompt and efficient emergency medical services and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ || Titay Municipal Fire Station Shift A Duty Personnel promptly responded to a reported vehicular accident at Brgy. Tugop, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay on June 1, 2026. Upon arrival at the scene, the responding team promptly secured the area and conducted an initial assessment. The patient was found conscious and alert, seated at the roadside, with an odor of alcohol on the breath noted. On assessment, a visible laceration was observed on the right zygomatic area.Immediate first aid was rendered by thoroughly irrigating the wounds with normal saline solution, followed by the application of povidone-iodine (Betadine). Butterfly bandage was applied, and appropriate wound dressings were secured to promote healing and help prevent infection.The patient’s condition was continuously monitored until stabilized. The patient declined transport and signed a waiver after being advised to seek further medical evaluation and management at the nearest hospital.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ || Titay Municipal Fire Station Shift A Duty Personnel promptly responded to a reported vehicular accident at Brgy. Kitabog, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay on June 1, 2026.

Upon arrival at the scene, responders immediately secured the area and conducted an initial assessment of the patient, identified as Mark Elvin Tumpag, 38 years old. The patient was found conscious, alert and seated at the roadside with abrasions on the left elbow, left wrist and fifth toe of the left foot.

Emergency medical care was immediately rendered by thoroughly irrigating the wounds with normal saline solution, applying povidone-iodine (Betadine), and dressing the affected areas to prevent infection. Vital signs were monitored and recorded, while the patient's condition remained stable throughout the response.

After further observation and assessment, the patient declined transport to a medical facility and voluntarily signed a waiver. The responding team continued monitoring the patient before safely concluding the operation.
