The second phase of the 93rd meeting of the Selection Board of UET Peshawar was held here today under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak. Candidates for various faculty and laboratory staff positions in the Faculty of Civil, Agricultural and Mining Engineering (FCAME) were interviewed by the Selection Board. The Board conducted a comprehensive evaluation of all candidates in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations, ensuring that the recruitment process remained transparent, impartial, and strictly merit-based.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak emphasized that recruiting competent and dedicated professionals is essential for sustaining academic quality and institutional progress. He stated that UET Peshawar is committed to selecting individuals with the knowledge, skills, and professional integrity needed to contribute effectively to teaching, research, and laboratory services. He added that strengthening the university's human resource base is a key priority in its continued pursuit of excellence in engineering education, research, and innovation.

The 93rd meeting of the Selection Board of UET Peshawar was held today under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak. The agenda of the meeting was presented by Registrar Dr. Khizar Azam.

During the meeting, the Selection Board interviewed candidates for various faculty and laboratory staff positions in the Faculty of Mechanical, Chemical and Industrial Engineering (FMCIE). All cases were examined thoroughly in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations to ensure a fair, transparent, and merit-based selection process.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak reaffirmed that merit, transparency, and institutional excellence remain the guiding principles of UET Peshawar's recruitment process. He stated that the university is committed to attracting and appointing highly qualified professionals whose expertise and dedication will further strengthen the institution's academic, research, and laboratory capabilities.

Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar Participates in 48th Vice Chancellors Committee Meeting of PEC

Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak, Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar participated in the 48th Vice Chancellors Committee Meeting as a Member of the Governing Body of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), held on June 30, 2026 chaired by Engr. Waseem Nazir, Chairman PEC. Several significant decisions were made necessary for shaping the future of engineering education in Pakistan. Chairman PEC also shared the Vision 2035 for Engineering Education and presented a comprehensive strategic roadmap, aimed at enhancing quality, relevance and global competitiveness of engineering education across Pakistan.

Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak said that UET Peshawar as the leading engineering university of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has always remained at the forefront of producing competent engineers, promoting impactful research, and contributing to the socio-economic and technological development of the province and the country. He assured full cooperation of the university to support PEC’s vision 2035 to modernize engineering education, strengthening academia-industry linkages and aligning engineering curricula with emerging global technologies and national development priorities, adding, the Vision 2035 roadmap initiated by PEC will enable the engineering universities to prepare future engineers by meeting the evolving national and international challenges.

Engr. Muhammad Farooq, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Electrical Engineering, successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis under the supervision of Dr. Shahid Bashir today at the Video Conference Hall, UET Peshawar.

The title of his Ph.D. thesis was "Intelligent Antenna Design: Leveraging Machine Learning for Improved Performance." During the open-house seminar, Engr. Farooq presented the findings of his research, which was followed by a Viva Voce examination conducted by the Examination Committee. Engr. Farooq is also serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, UET Peshawar. The thesis defense was attended by Prof. Dr. Syed Waqar Shah, Dean, Faculty of Electrical and Computing Engineering; Prof. Dr. Amjad Ullah Khattak, Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering; faculty members, researchers, experts from the relevant field, and students.

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar conducted second Computer-Based Test (CBT) for Academic Session 2026-27 through Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) for admission BSc Engineering, BETech and B.Architecture degree programs offered by both public and private sector engineering universities and colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The test was conducted at Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Dir Lower, Swat, and DI Khan centers.

6256 candidates, including both male and female candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, erstwhile FATA, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan appeared for the entrance test.

Dr. Khurram Sheraz, Admissions In-charge and his team visited different test centers and appreciated the efforts of ETEA for the test. He expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements and facilities that were provided to the candidates at all centres.
