Secretary, Population Welfare Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Aneela Mahfooz Durrani, chaired the UNFPA Biannual Partners Meeting, bringing together development partners and key stakeholders to review progress, discuss ongoing initiatives, and strengthen collaboration in advancing family planning and reproductive health programmes across the province.

The meeting served as a platform for productive dialogue, the exchange of insights, and the identification of strategic priorities to enhance programme implementation. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to coordinated efforts and continued partnership in achieving shared goals for improved population welfare and sustainable development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On 29 July 2026, a workshop on Situation Analysis Findings and Roadmap Development was organized by Aga Khan University. The event brought together key stakeholders to review the findings of the situation analysis and discuss strategic recommendations for developing an effective roadmap to strengthen future initiatives.

Secretary, Population Welfare Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Aneela Mahfooz Durrani, attended the workshop and actively participated in the discussions. The session provided a valuable platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the formulation of practical strategies aimed at improving programme planning and implementation.

Secretary Population Welfare Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Aneela Mahfooz Durrani, chaired an online e-Khuli Kachehri today, accompanied by Director General Population Welfare Department, Mr. Abdullah, along with senior officers from the Population Welfare Department. The session provided an opportunity for citizens from across the province to directly interact with the department’s leadership and share their concerns, complaints, suggestions, and queries regarding population welfare services.

During the e-Khuli Kachehri, Dr. Aneela Mahfooz Durrani listened attentively to each participant and ensured that every issue was given due consideration. She issued on-the-spot directions to the relevant officers for the prompt resolution of public grievances and emphasized that all complaints should be addressed on a priority basis with transparency, efficiency, and accountability. She also instructed the concerned officials to maintain close coordination with the complainants and ensure timely follow-up until each matter is resolved.

The Secretary reiterated the Population Welfare Department’s commitment to improving service delivery, strengthening public engagement, and ensuring that citizens have easy access to quality reproductive health and family planning services through a responsive and people-centered approach.

سیکرٹری محکمہ بہبودِ آبادی خیبر پختونخوا، ڈاکٹر انیلہ محفوظ درانی نے آج آن لائن ای۔کھلی کچہری کی صدارت کی، جس میں ڈائریکٹر جنرل محکمہ بہبودِ آبادی، جناب عبداللہ، اور محکمہ بہبودِ آبادی کے دیگر سینئر افسران بھی شریک تھے۔ اس موقع پر صوبے بھر سے شہریوں نے براہِ راست محکمہ کی اعلیٰ قیادت سے رابطہ کرتے ہوئے محکمانہ خدمات، عوامی مسائل، شکایات، تجاویز اور سوالات پیش کیے۔
ڈاکٹر انیلہ محفوظ درانی نے شرکاء کے تمام مسائل، شکایات اور آراء کو توجہ سے سنا اور ہر معاملے کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا۔ انہوں نے متعلقہ افسران کو موقع پر ہی ہدایات جاری کیں کہ عوامی شکایات کو ترجیحی بنیادوں پر فوری طور پر حل کیا جائے اور تمام معاملات کو شفافیت، ذمہ داری اور مؤثر انداز میں نمٹایا جائے۔ انہوں نے متعلقہ افسران کو یہ بھی ہدایت کی کہ درخواست گزاروں سے مسلسل رابطہ رکھا جائے اور ہر شکایت کے مکمل حل تک اس کی پیش رفت کی باقاعدہ نگرانی کی جائے۔

World Population Day 2026 was commemorated under the global theme, “Realizing the Hopes and Aspirations of Young People – Today and for the Future,” highlighting the importance of empowering young people through informed choices, quality education, accessible healthcare, and equal opportunities to build a prosperous and sustainable future.

The event was graced by Dr. Aneela Mahfooz Durrani, Secretary, Population Welfare Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Mr. Tufail Anjum, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Population Welfare, who reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to addressing population challenges through evidence-based policies, strengthened family planning services, and meaningful youth engagement.

The ceremony brought together representatives from UNFPA, government departments, development partners, and other key stakeholders on a single platform to celebrate World Population Day and renew their collective commitment to promoting reproductive health, responsible parenthood, and sustainable population growth. Participants emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to ensure that every young person is empowered to realize their hopes and aspirations, contributing to a healthier, more inclusive, and prosperous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan.

سیکرٹری محکمہ بہبودِ آبادی، حکومتِ خیبر پختونخوا، ڈاکٹر انیلہ محفوظ درانی نے آج مورخہ 11 جولائی 2026 کو ضلعی دفتر بہبودِ آبادی (DPWO) بنیر کا دورہ کیا۔ اس موقع پر انہوں نے ضلع بنیر میں محکمہ بہبودِ آبادی کے زیرِ اہتمام منعقدہ مفت طبی کیمپوں کا معائنہ کیا، جہاں عوام الناس کو بنیادی طبی سہولیات، تولیدی صحت، ماں اور بچے کی صحت، خاندانی منصوبہ بندی سے متعلق مشاورت اور دیگر ضروری طبی خدمات فراہم کی جا رہی تھیں۔ ڈاکٹر انیلہ محفوظ درانی نے کیمپوں میں فراہم کی جانے والی سہولیات کا جائزہ لیا، طبی عملے کی کارکردگی کو سراہا اور عوام کو معیاری اور بروقت خدمات کی فراہمی کو محکمہ کی اولین ترجیح قرار دیا۔

بعد ازاں عالمی یومِ آبادی 2026 کے موقع پر ضلعی دفتر بہبودِ آبادی، بنیر میں ایک تقریب کا انعقاد کیا گیا، جس میں سیکرٹری محکمہ بہبودِ آبادی نے افسران اور عملے کے ہمراہ شرکت کی۔ تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے عالمی یومِ آبادی کے اس سال کے موضوع کی اہمیت پر روشنی ڈالی اور آبادی کے متوازن انتظام، تولیدی صحت، خاندانی منصوبہ بندی، خواتین کو بااختیار بنانے اور پائیدار ترقی کے اہداف کے حصول کے لیے اجتماعی کاوشوں کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ عوام میں شعور و آگاہی پیدا کرنا اور معیاری خدمات کی فراہمی محکمہ بہبودِ آبادی کی بنیادی ذمہ داری ہے، جس کے لیے تمام افسران اور عملہ بھرپور عزم اور پیشہ ورانہ صلاحیت کے ساتھ اپنی خدمات سرانجام دے رہا ہے-

A meeting of the Sub-Committee on Country Engagement Working Group (CEWG) was convened to deliberate on matters related to the strengthening and restructuring of the Country Engagement Working Group. The session focused on reviewing existing coordination mechanisms, identifying key areas for improvement, and discussing strategic measures to enhance collaboration and effectiveness of the working group.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Aneela Mahfooz Durrani, Secretary Population Welfare Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with other relevant stakeholders and members of the sub-committee. During the meeting, participants shared their insights and recommendations aimed at improving institutional coordination and ensuring more effective engagement at the country level.

The discussions concluded with a commitment from all participants to continue collaborative efforts toward strengthening the framework and operational structure of the Country Engagement Working Group (CEWG) to better achieve its objectives
