Safety Town 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ was a success! ✔️

This past Tuesday and Wednesday, August 4th & 5th, 25 Kindergarten students participated in this event to learn about police and fire safety! They also learned about gun safety, stranger danger, and school bus safety! All kids received bicycle helmets, and Children’s Hospital did a presentation on how important it is to wear a helmet.

On behalf of all of us here at Springfield Township Police Department, we would like to thank you all for coming out to our K9 car show on Friday, July 24th!

We hope you all had as good as a time as we had!

We had 200+ cars this year!

As stated before, our K9 program is funded by donations so every little bit matters!

🔴There were over 30 vendors, several food trucks, and The Lee’s Brothers Band🔴

We would like to thank all of the businesses, and volunteers, there were SO many people and businesses that helped make this possible so we sincerely apologize if we forgot to mention you!

Springfield Township Police Department Welcomes New Addition Of A Support K9 🐾

The Springfield Township Police Department is pleased to announce that we have been selected to participate in a Support Dog Program. Our support dog, Ruby, is a two-year-old mixed-breed, and will be assigned to Officer Cory Dorsey, our School Resource Officer at Schrop Intermediate School. Officer Dorsey and Officer Chelsea Ireland are in Florida this week to complete specialized training and to bring Ruby to Springfield Township.

There is no cost to Springfield Township for Ruby's acquisition, Officer Dorsey and Ireland’s training, or the initial equipment provided through the program.

🐶 Ruby will play an important role in supporting our community by assisting with:

— Critical incident debriefings
— Victim assistance programs
— School and community outreach events
— Providing comfort to children, victims, witnesses, and others experiencing trauma or emotional distress

Please join us in welcoming Ruby to the Springfield Township community!
