NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Springfield Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, August 12, at 5:30 pm, at Springfield Township Hall, 2459 Canfield Road, Akron, Ohio, 44312 to hear the following request:

(BZA 12-2026/Permit #102557) Stephen Dever, owner of the property at 3551 Albrecht Avenue, requests a variance to permit a detached garage to be located 11 feet from the right-of-way on Celia Avenue. Section 5.05(A)(2)(g)(i), (ii) and (iii) of the Springfield Township Zoning Resolution defines front, side, and rear yards on corner lots and Section 5.05(C) requires a setback of at least 40 feet. The request is for a variance of 29 feet.

(BZA 13-2026/Permit #102577) Ellen Selle, Permit Project Manager for Sheetz, requests Conditional Use approval to permit a gas station at 2943 South Arlington Road, as required under Springfield Township Zoning Resolution Section 5.03(B) of the Springfield Township Zoning Resolution. The request also includes Conditional Use for outdoor storage. The applicant further requests variances to permit parking between the gas pumps and the street and to allow additional parking spaces. Section 5.04(V)(3) prohibits parking between the pumps and the street, and Sections 11.04(A) and 11.04(B)(2)(c) establish the required and maximum number of parking spaces.
