Albany Damien Center

Albany Damien Center The Damien Center is a community center for people impacted by HIV, homelessness, & mental health

The Damien Center's mission is to enhance the lives of people affected by HIV/AIDS in an affirming environment and to reduce new infections in the communities we serve. We envision a community where people with HIV/AIDS achieve their desired potential and are respected as coworkers neighbors and friends, while striving for an HIV free generation.

August 9 is the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples—a time to honor the rights, cultures, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous communities worldwide.

This year’s theme, “Honoring Indigenous Midwives: Safeguarding Life and Well-being,” recognizes Indigenous midwives who provide essential care while preserving cultural knowledge, traditions, and community trust.

The Albany Damien Center stands in support of Indigenous communities and their right to equitable, culturally respectful health care.
