CASA of New York State Supporting, uniting and growing the local CASA programs that provide court appointed volunteer advocates for abused and neglected children in New York State.

www.casanys.org CASA programs in New York serve more than 2,500 children and youth, over 80% of whom are in relative or non-relative foster care. Others remain at home with family with supervision. Advocate volunteers are paired with one child or sibling group, visiting regularly, working with other adults involved in the child's case and providing information to Family Court in order to help judg

es make informed decisions in the child's best interest. Studies have shown that the consistent presence of just one caring adult can the difference to a child or young person. Research has also demonstrated that children and youth with a CASA volunteer spend less time in foster care and receive more essential services than children and youth who do not have a CASA volunteer.
