Join Albany Firefighters and the Albany Firefighters Cancer and Disability Foundation as they support one of our own in their time of need as well as an employee from DGS.

Last week, one of their Battalion Chiefs and a DGS Supervisor were seriously burned in the course of their duties and require lengthy treatment. As a family, we always want to help our own, and we invite you to join us.

Stop by Fidens Brewing Company Saturday August 29th and raise a glass to these men and their families in their time of need.

🚨OFFICIAL RELEASE🚨

The Albany Firefighters Cancer and Disability Foundation will be hosting a fundraiser for our Battalion Chief and Albany Department of General Services Supervisor, who were both severely injured in a fuel pump explosion on August 4th, 2026.

This fundraiser will provide assistance to their families with travel, lodging, meals, and other expenses associated with extended medical treatment.

AFCDF will be partnering with Fidens Brewing Company for this community fundraiser.

This afternoon, a member of our local/department, was involved in a critical incident during the course of his duties, causing serious injuries and was subsequently airlifted to a hospital out of the area, following treatment on scene by Albany Fire Department personnel.

While this incident continues to unfold, we ask the Albany community, brother and sister firefighters, and the public in general to keep our member and his family in your thoughts.
