Four years ago today, we welcomed our first group of arrivals, 12 people. Their lives, and ours, were forever changed, though we didn’t yet know just how much.

After that first flight, we were at the airport for every direct flight from Frankfurt to Anchorage, welcoming more Ukrainians to their new home - Alaska. Before the summer even ended, we had welcomed over 600 people. Such a sweet memory… and there are still so, so many stories to tell.

We are proud to see our Ukrainian clients giving back to the local community by helping clean streets in Anchorage and Wasilla in partnership with Matson in Alaska.

They care about the places they now call home, and we love seeing our communities clean and united. ❤️

New Chance would like to thank the Alaska Department of Fish and Game - Official 🐟 for leading two educational events in Anchorage and Wasilla for Ukrainian refugees. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about fishing and wildlife in Alaska, enjoy time together, and try delicious smoked fish from our local community. Thank you for your support! 🫎

On this Day of Remembrance and Victory over Na**sm in World War II, we honour millions of people whose lives were taken by this war, as well as those who defended the world from Na**sm.

World War II became one of the most terrible tragedies in human history. Millions of Ukrainians served in various armies of the anti-Hitler coalition and took part in underground resistance, as our land became the site of major battles and immense human suffering. World War II took the lives of more than 8 million Ukrainians.

The year 1945 did not bring lasting peace to Ukraine – in another totalitarian regime, the Soviet Union, repression continued. Today, Ukraine is once again forced to defend its freedom and the security of all Europe against Russian aggression.

The memory of World War II should serve as a call for responsibility and determination to defend a just and lasting peace.

Our dear Ukrainian 🇺🇦 client, who came to Alaska seeking safety, is now facing an unimaginable loss. On April 1st, she buried her husband after a year and a half battle with cancer, and is now left raising six children on her own, including a child with autism and two very young daughters who still ask when their father is coming home.
