🎃Halloween Door Decoration🎃

We’ve arrived!! Halloween Month is always a fun month for us! We started as we do every year for the past 3 years, with our door decoration competition !!

We dusted all our decorations off and let our members choose how to decorate the doors! We chose 3 doors and had a good time sabotaging each other’s efforts while giggling out tails off. 🤣

Our staff did an amazing job walking around and asking their team members what their opinions were about decorating and did their best to accommodate everyone’s request!

We sent our completed decorated door pictures to our Program Manager and the ruling came out fair and square!

the winning team was awarded 50 tickets to use in our concession stand during our movie days, 2nd place 40 tickets and 3 rd place 30 tickets. They all also received an extra 10 tickets for engaging and working hard as the team we are!

A month full of cute monsters and ghouls! Have you started planning yet?

🫐Revive and Repeat🫐

This is our second time visiting this cute and most delicious shop!

Our members were absolutely ecstatic that we were able to enjoy their morning coffee here!

We ordered Americano, Hot Chocolate, Açaí Bowls, Iced Vanilla Lattes and Peanut Butter Energy Balls and one of our members simply said, “ Boy, they know what they’re doing!”

The Açaí Bowl? UHHHMAZING 🤤!! The service? Chefs Kiss 🤌🏾💋The aesthetic? OUTSTANDING 😍!

The overall consensus is, this cute and amazing shop is simply amazing! Our members love it and yes, it’s definitely on our calendar for another visit!

Also, don’t even get me started on the cute pink cups!!😭😍 ADORE!!!

🤠A YEE AND A HAW🤠

Last week all of the Lifeworks centers made our way south as we decked out our cowboy hats, put on them boots and jeans and had ourselves one heck of a good ole time!

Our members just had a ball decorating their own hats to their liking and staff assisted with ideas and hot glue gunnin! Afterwards we had ourselves a country karaoke party!!

We sang tributes to Mrs. Dolly Parton , the amazing Garth Brooks , the beautiful Carrie Underwood and so many more favorites!

A time was had and our members loved every moment of it!

💃🏽Hispanic Heritage Month 🪅

Today we took the time to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

We’ve learned that although most of us aren’t Hispanic, something that they do that we connect with so well is, Food! And as we’ve all experienced today, they do food… So… Dang… Well!!!

Our members talked about Tacos, Tamales, Empanadas, Mofongo, Arepas all the way to Paellas!! Our mouth was watering by the end!

Our staff gave a demonstration of how to make a creamy Strawberry Agua Fresca! Our members were able to enjoy Strawberry Agua Fresca, Cantaloupe Agua Fresca and also Horchata!!

We are so happy that we were able to celebrate such an amazing heritage and learn about the many cultures that make up Hispanic Nations!! We hope we did it justice!

We look forward to celebrating more cultures throughout the year!

🪩 Glow Party 🪩

We had our very first GLOW PARTY!! For a while our members kept bringing up memories of dance parties we had last year and we just HAD to start the BURR months off right with a Glow Party!!

While staying within safety and health code regulations, we closed the blinds and turned off as many lights as possible, turned on our black lights and disco lights, spent weeks and many hours on glow in the dark and UV shirts for members, painted ALL over our faces (🤣) and we karaoke and danced the afternoon off!!

Oh boy, our members were READYYYY!! There wasn’t a single bad hip in sight! Staff members safely included our wheelchair members as we sang and danced with them all! They even helped each other (🥹 so proud of them!)

Ughhh! To all of our members, WE LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!

Lifeworks Bldg 500 made it to the Fair!
Look at these amazing smiles!

Everyone had an amazing time sight seeing and tasting amazing food!

From the animals to the amazing Alaskan made artistry, our members and staff made memories today!

I think it’s fair to say the reptile exhibit was a favorite!

We’ll be posting more our Fair adventures soon!

🐺Iditarod Trail Race🐺

What an extremely amazing experience our Wasilla Team had! We made our way to the Iditarod Trail Race shop located in Wasilla on KGB. We were able to see so much! From a cute store that had so many different items that you can buy as gifts with high quality materials, a 30 minute very educational documentary and an ACTUAL DOGSLED TEAM!!

Our members enjoyed a 30 minute video about the history of the Iditarod and their efforts in maintaining these trails all so the dogs can continue to do what they were born to do… RUN!!

We got to meet some of these dogs and we can tell you, they want nothing to do but run their tails of!!

And from our experience… they do it SO WELL!! A BIG thank you to The Iditarod for the outstanding customer service and for educating the public about one of Alaskas greatest past time❤️ we look forward to another chance to meet those amazing puppies!

👒Farewell, Summer Time👒

The end of August means the end of summer🥺

We had a great summer BBQ! The sun was shining and we were smiling! We had so many new games!
•We made giant bubbles
>(and some flew over the fence and up in the sky!)
•Prize Fishing
•Sunset Cafe
• Summer Tie Dye

And all the other of our members favorites like, Shooting games and balloon darts!

This year has taken a place in our book of memories! So fun and so many heart healthy moments!!

We also celebrated one of our staff members who left us in pursuit of higher education!! FAREWELL, ELI!!! Although it was short, it was simply amazing getting to work with you!

Thank you for all that you did with and for the members! They still talk about you and tell us how great you were! We hope school is treating you well and look forward to future visits!

🦆 Feeding Ducks 🦆

Yesterday was a much needed sunny break from all the rain. We have been waiting for a time when we can escape the indoors and make a break for it, hit the road and catch some sunrays!!

We ventured out and found one of favorite duck viewing spots! We took some old bread and lined our members up and let them feed the ducks to their hearts content!

We had so much fun and our members smile were rejuvenated by the sun!
We feel bad for the neighbors because some of the staff members laughed a little loud! Almost like construction was happening 👀🤣

With the cool breeze from the lake, the sun warming our bodies along with snacks?! We had the perfect equation for an amazing afternoon!

Hopefully a couple more sunny days but if not… we went out with smiles on our faces and belly aches from laughter.
