Looking to help out your community? The Anderson County Detention Center is hosting a Back-to-School Supply Drive at the Anderson Main Library! Until July 30, we're accepting donations of new school supplies for students in need. While all supply donations are welcome, the following items are in high demand:

Crayons, markers, colored pencils
Wide rule & composition notebooks
Tissue boxes & Clorox wipes
Folders & trapper keepers
Pencils, erasers, highlighters
Glue sticks & glue bottles

Donations can be dropped off in the collection box, located by the 1st floor elevator during open hours. Thank you ACDC for what you're doing for our students!

We had a great time at our movie night last Friday! Over 100 patrons showed up for a night of photos, crafts, trivia, and of course, movies. We hope everyone who came had a great time, we sure did!

Missed out on movie night? Join us for Music Night at the Library next month! On Friday, July 10, we'll be turning up the tunes and dancing the night away at the Main Library. Kiddos will love our light-up dance party feat. kid-friendly music, teens can enjoy a silent disco in our Teen Room, and adults can choose between testing out their line dancing skills or partaking in music trivia!

And we're off! Our 'Unearth a Story' Summer Reading program is officially underway, and our patrons are already having a blast. From petting a real-life calf to dancing the day away, to learning about ancient insects to seeing a hyper realistic dinosaur replica, we've got something for every interest. The red carpet is about to roll out for Movie Night at the Library, happening TOMORROW at 6:30 PM @ the Main Library! Get dressed up (or come as you are!) for a night of movies, trivia, food, and fun for the whole family.

Pick your adventure! Watch 'Space Jam' while you munch on some out-of-this-world popcorn and make a "galaxy" popcorn craft, or test your movie trivia knowledge in our Electric City Creative Makerspace! Teens also have the opportunity to jet-set to Japan and take part in a special Japanese-themed hangout session, complete with anime, Japanese treats, and a special photo-op!

Join us next Friday, June 12 @ 6:30 PM at the Anderson Main Library for Movie Night at the Library! Dress your best and walk our red carpet, then snap a pic in our photo booth! Families can enjoy popcorn while watching the fan-favorite movie 'Space Jam,' and make a fun, movie-themed craft. For our teen patrons, head upstairs to the Teen Room and watch episodes of your favorite anime, along with other Japanese-themed activities. Adults, we didn't forget about you! Get a team together and partake in movie-themed trivia.

A small black and white dog has been found at the Anderson Main Library. The dog looks to have no collar. Please share this and help us find the dog's owner!

Celebrate 250 years of America at this special celebration, in partnership with Anderson County, S.C., Anderson County Museum, Anderson Arts Center, Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Anderson, SC - Local Government, Anderson County Library System, and Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium (GAMAC)!

This family-friendly event will feature food trucks, games for kids, patriotic music, reenactors, and a chance to see our new Bookmobile. Also, don't miss a special bell tribute to celebrate 250 years at 2:50 PM!
