🚐🌲 From Ga***rd to Marquette, Alpena to Benzonia, this summer took the educators from Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center on an adventure across northern Michigan and into the Upper Peninsula!

Their biggest U.P. tour yet brought hands-on science, nature, and wildlife experiences to 32+ libraries across the state. Along the way, they explored living fossils, dug into rocks and minerals, put curious minds to work with their classic crime lab, and shared plenty of opportunities to get up close with wildlife. 🦕🪨🔍🐾

The journey took them through St. Ignace, Fife Lake, Leland, Grayling, Marquette, Iron Mountain, Escanaba, Manistique, L’Anse, and so many more communities. At every stop, they met curious learners, connected with new library friends, and found another opportunity to make science feel exciting, accessible, and hands-on.

And while the programs were the reason for the journey, the adventure did not stop when the last question was answered.

Between long drives and busy program days, there was time to take in Michigan’s scenery, enjoy a little sunshine, and experience some of the places that made this tour so memorable. ☀️🌿

💚 Thank you to all of the libraries and communities that welcomed the teams this summer! The tour may be over, but planning for next year’s adventure is already underway. We can’t wait to see where the road takes them next!
